It seems to me a solution would be for your EGO to announce that it had detected Volge troops massing near the siege area and give everyone a few minutes to get there before the siege could be started. That way if there was only a single person it could still start.

Perhaps spawning a temporary FT point near the Seiges so everyone can get there in a reasonable time would also be a good thing.

Dawn Patrol is a good idea, I would join you in a heartbeat, but I am on the PC/NA, there is no way I will dish out scrip for a console system, not after what I paid for the desktop. :P

Forgive me for not reading every post in the thread if this stuff has already been said.

First thing first: I really dislike the idea of having to wait on any number of people to start an event especially if its open world and they got 4 other options. Co-op map and pvp queues are painful enough, I don't wanna see "Bath house siege waiting for 3 more players ..." If you really want to always start with a good number of people stick to quarry or maybe north point. I noticed there's almost never a lack of players there and others are fast to join in. But even those don't make it past round 9-10 I've actually only seen round 11 at quarry once.

Another thing I notice is that starting the siege will actually draw people to it if there's no one around (usually at late hours). No one wants to do mutant district alone since that one requires a lot of running between flags but if i see the timer at 14:30 while the others are at 11 min then I'll high tail it to overpass. I mean if the timer isn't started people will think no ones there at all. Putting it in chat is good and all but the chat system in this game is well ....

IMO they should just give sieges a longer time limit even if they have to up the number of points to get a tier 4 cache. The furthest siege I have been a part of was to round 12 and that one had a lot of people there at the start, I think a clan was involved or something. It would take a crazy amount of players to get to something like wave 14+. It'd be like begging for a disconnect / crash. I love those later stages 10+ when it starts to hit the fan and there's enough volge around that getting points is no problem even if its all assists but it takes too long to get there even with a large group at the start. I blame those elite viscera bullet sponges

I'm not intending my reply to pick a fight, but I really need to get something of my chest about this topic. In the very first paragraph you rail against a person who starts a Volge siege with too few people around.

Not long ago I was playing at my typical playing time which is during the wee hours and came upon a Volge siege about half an hour before maintenance shut down, I was the only person there, so I decided to give it a shot for the heck of it. Not only did I do very well, I had the most fun I've had at a siege ever. It was so hectic running around blasting everything. Normally I earn around 20-30k for a score, but that night I earned 65k and my only orange drop in a siege to date.

So, I really have to take umbrage, UMBRAGE I SAY!, to a suggestion that implements a game mechanic that won't allow me to start a siege solo especially when there is no one else around! UMBRAGE I SAY!

Basically I feel that your entire premise for this post is that people shouldn't start a siege if there aren't enough people to handle the siege. This premise I believe to be flawed because I can personally attest to the fact that a single person can do well and have a ton of fun while doing so.

Lastly, I don't want you to think that I'm against common courtesy, if there are folks milling about and obviously waiting before initiating the siege, those folks should, you know, speak up and ask politely that they are waiting for a larger group to gather before initiating the siege, and at that point if someone starts it knowing full well that folks are in the midst of gathering for it, then I agree that person is a poopy head.

Indeed... it was the most fun I've had playing that game in a LONG time. Has me fiending to play right now it was so much fun earlier today! LOL
