I honestly can't tell much of a difference in graphics. All it does is make the shaders darker.

gw2 is dx9. is that a console port?
not exactly a whole lot of games - especially mmos - doing dx10+ because the more players you have on screen the more of a resource hog it becomes for all involved. adding complex graphics on top of that is something the devs can just choose to not implement.
the ones that are doing dx10+ are doing it well. i dont even think bioshock infinite is dx10/11
it also improves contrast on textures giving the appearance of a more crisp, detailed surface. just can't go overboard or the contrast starts to look unnatural and generate eye strain.
i'm using an fxaa injector. it's not sweetfx though. but i did dial it down a bit at first.
this is my before
and my after
however it's better to look at it in detail
no sharpening was techinally done. shaders were manipulated to increase the contrast, and that gives the appearance of crisper textures.
can't really share my settings as it's not sweetfx i'm using. each user needs to adjust to taste as not everyone can handle extreme contrast ranges or even like the sharper textures.
(photobucket trashes jpeg uploads which is why i also showed a crop. that blue artifact to the right of the building is not in the original image)
Final fantasy 14 and Tera Online use newer direct x GW2 is looking on updating to DX11 support and they all allow Sweetfx.
This is not a my **** is bigger than yours thread so if you have something to try and prove please do it elsewhere thanks.
Also Sweetfx does the same thing as its a shader injector. If you don't like it don't use it the point of this thread is for those who do want it and want to use it. Not a debate on its function or the settings used to make things "pretty" this is not a technical programming/Photoshop thread.
It is however a thread to help those who wish to see more out of their game graphics using Sweetfx. If you don't use it and dont want to and wana chat do it elsewhere .
Sweet fx is a fxaa/smaa injector as well so really your doing the same thing.
If its not about Sweetfx or its use post it elsewhere. I'm trying to assist people and Ive had to play forum tag all day with people who would rather hop into a forum thread and derail it instead of do anything helpful.
"On a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero"
will be watching this once sledge makes a post on it will try it then.
Dixa on my screen your shots have a saturation problem, lots of bleeding colors but those fine details sure are nice. It's like they didn't make all the textures 512x512
i saw people having problem with win8, sometimes the sweetfx files doesn't have the right to write
you can try a right clic on the live folder go to security and check the users rights
if sweetfx is loaded you have a log.log created , if not you have a right problem
most of the game are made for 16-236 colors range because on console you play on tv, the only game i played who didn't need sweetfx was crysis3, bioshock infinite i just tweaked a little
nobody tried my preset ?

my sweetfx preset : http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/311/
new injector http://ninjafada.com/sweetfx/defiance/DefianceSF14.zip better perfs
Got it working on Windows 8. and it does look better. But I rather would not get banned using it, since this is DLL injection...I rather have the word its alright to use![]()
the jpeg captures arent all that great to start. i dont have sweetfx, i use a diff injector. i've tried screencaps of this game with fraps, bandicam and dxtory and always get fail, inaccurate jpegs. all that matters in my post is the crop showcasing the apparant 'sharpening' effect
The only game i've seen to actually ban SweetFX is planetside 2 and the reason they gave is because someone was able to make invisible players glow orange using it.....or so they claim.
i've done betas/alphas for a lot of games and I always ask if I can use sweetfx and I always get the generic third party response or "I'll look into it" and never hear from them again.
