"Your Hard Drive" being the keyword. Not Trion's, or anyone else's for that matter. As I've said in another thread, software installed on my computer is like a guest in my house. We treat each other with mutual respect, but if that guest of mine tries to force me to do something I don't want to do, or the opposite, tries to prevent me from doing something that is no threat to him or anyone else at all, he gets kicked out the door. Forcing people to not use image enhancing software is like that guest trying to force me to put down my colored glasses that I very much enjoy wearing.

Nevertheless - I would like a confirmation wether SweetFX is viable or not..

Let's say Trion is the owner of this house called defiance, and I come their as a guest. Now, my vision isn't the best so I use glasses (sweetfx). Would it be right for trion to force me not to use my glasses, basically forcing me to being unable to see well. That is no way to treat a guest

I left for like 40 min to go buy food and already had to tell people to stay on topic yikes.

However i will have to agree with blackwolfe and as far as wearing a dress goes if she looks better in it than when she showed up in rags then yea why not. O_o/ so there goes that analogy.

Ps: I hope your not implying you like men in dresses in your house..

I don't really know how to answer that. First I'd have to explain to you how SweetFX manages to do what it does, but since you've opted for the childish approach, I'll desist as I'd be wasting even more of my time.

So, found an issue, I was up all night working on trying to find why my game would not launch with sweetfx installed.
This morning, I launched the game perfectly, sweetfx working as intended, I was shocked!

The change? Xfire was not running at the time, the moment I turned Xfire on and tried to launch the game, it refused to launch. It would bring up an empty box, then close back to the patcher, same as last night.. Exited Xfire, tried again.. perfect launch.

Is there a workaround for this? I use Xfire to communicate with my friends since we dont all play the same games, but would really enjoy sweetfx.

Sweetfx doesn't seem to play well with certain video capture software as xfire has the screenshot and video capture options it can cause problems. I may try to find a workaround later but try turning off video capture and screenshot options in xfire if possible may fix the issue.

Sweetfx also allows for screenshots with print screen and the pictures will drop in the live folder for defiance.

It works! Disabling the video option did not, but I went further and tried disabling Xfire in-game completely, and it allows for a launch now.
Thank you very much for the quick reply, I can now play with sweetfx on and feel like I am playing a proper pc game, and alt-tabbing to talk to a friend isn't that bad \o/

lol i just installed xfire to see if i could find a workaround you beat me to it. I used to use voice in xfire mostly anyway.

Ninja says

fraps and rts( osd used by msi afterburner and evga precision )

are the only 2 overlays that seem to work with sweetfx.
Steam and Origin may depending on the game but best to leave the overlays off.

Also in windows 8 you have to start fraps after running the game.
for rts need to tick the option for custom dll.

It's because they sux at coding and hack the directx with other overlays when its not needed and sweet fx needs the directx to apply the shaders you see in game.
