Can't get SweatFX to work at all. Launch the patcher, hit play, you can see the Defiance game window launching, then a couple seconds later it closes. And installing dx via the web updater or the actual redis did nothing for me.

If I put SweatFX into the main Defiance folder, rather then live. The game launches but is def not using SweatFX.

If you have other on screen display software running and there is a conflict this will occur. For example I use ENB with Skyrim and if I attempt to launch Skyrim with it installed while EVGA Precision is running the game will immediately crash.

Alright, so when I originally responded to this thread - it was in the General PC Topics section of the forums. I hadn't realized it had been moved to Tech Support until you pointed it out. However, that does not excuse the behavior manifested by you or Lasse B.

Still, since I realize that this is now a Tech Support thread, I understand that this debate is not appropriate here. Thus, I will not continue.

I also do not have any questions regarding the use of SweetFx. Until there is official word on it being acceptable, I will not be using it. Regardless of the reasoning, and whatever defense one can muster, there is way too much "gray area - possible bans" floating around it. I work too hard for the money I used to pay for the game, and I am not the person to gamble it away just because someone made an arguable case.

What SweetFX really needs is some official endorsement. You should work harder on acquiring that, and less on insulting people who have a difference of opinion in semantics. Or policing a thread that you didn't even create, and aren't paid to police.

Ive been trying to acquire official endorsement since launch which has lead to learning about their legal policies about posting on such topics as this. Sledge cant comment either as Ive asked him to at no fault of his own. At this point stabbing at Trion for an official post will help no one as it will do nothing but annoy their GM and CS teams further, as they are already too busy dealing with more important things.

As for telling "ME" to work harder on getting an official post when you have no idea what Ive been doing is "insulting".
As for creating this thread I fully intended to, but Raidenz beat me to it as i wanted to wait till a week after launch to bring it up as Trion was in panic mode. This was already discussed afew days after launch in this thread. Which is why im now using this thread as the Support thread because when Raidenz made it, it was because he needed support anyway. I have also stated today "no ones forcing you to use it so feel free not to if it bothers you."

As your not using it till there's an Official post that's fine. Post back here if you have any questions should you decide to use it.

Correct also make sure all overlays are shut off and try see if it then launches.

The game does not start for me as well.
I have only Skype running and when i try to start the game,
only white screen and then it closes.
So i run the game through Patcher.exe (executable which patch the game).
The patcher check the version and runs the game.

yea because its an mmo you have to launch it through the patcher by default.

it's not like i wrote 2 pages ago mumble overlay will crash the game

for directx if you run the updater i won't help because it will detect dx11 and skip
you have to use the redistribuable one 9.0c http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=8109
sometime you need to reboot because somes dll are loaded in memory
and sometime you need to reboot install it and reboot
and the worst case i got was on batman the game installed a corrupted dx9, had to reboot install reboot install reboot and it worked ...

now in the live folder you have a log.log if the dll is loaded, if it crash you will have info in there that could help us find the problem

we won't have a official answer stop asking for it , because you gonna piss them off and end wilth it forbidden
sometime i think some people would like that ...

in the worst case after they have fixed their game, they can temp ban for 24H , so no big deal, we will know then, you can't use it anymore, and still can play the game

so for now lets enjoy the game with it, i hope they will add some improvement to the pc version, because if not and no sweetfx i won't buy the dlc pass
