How does the 360 play with the PC versions?

I got a friend to play so that we could play together but he doesn't have a 360. So he started playing the PC version but we are unable to find each other.

If it's not possible then can I move my characters over to the PC version so I don't have to start all over?

There is no cross platform support.

If you have a PC capable of playing the game, buy a copy of the game for PC. It would be far cheaper than someone buying a 360+game.
