There are players coming back, and when players come back - especially the traders I roll with - they are immediately struck by the fact that no one wants their "old" weapons...

Good idea, but it is something we want. and have posted. So now it won't get done because a) it is something logical that players want or b) it was suggested on the forums and for some reason they just wont use any ideas posted by us.

I'm not sure this is 100% true, when they announced the grenade mechanic change some of use were quick to point out that grenade rolls and the Grenadier synergy would be affected, our bringing it to their attention was the only reason it got any attention at all.

They had not even considered the problem prior to our pointing it out on these very forums.

Lul I refer to the community ideas (ie flamethrowers, snow level,

), not the problems with their own ideas (grenadegate, infectors, raptor, boosts, ect).

Most developers won't accept outside ideas anyway. It's almost as if you doom the idea by bringing it into existence.

Epic article! Unfortunately I've learned that many years ago, which is why i'll never give gaming advice.

Even after the release, you had the hardcore crowd who wanted a more challenging game (Hard mode for co-op that if completed, would give better gear that buying locked boxes), and you had those who appreciated the enabling in game (scaling enemies so not to push the players patience, RND lock boxes so weapons are given to the lucky and not the skillfull)

Yea, I now what kind of game this is, blah, blah its shooter not an rpg, but has rpg elements blah, blah.
