DLC 2 Release Date?

This is all information that we got in late august its now the middle of October and we have not heard anything since and that's why im skeptic about it.

The weapon roll mechanics change was not really mentioned in August. It was mentioned in detail 2 weeks ago and just came out Tuesday in a patch.

Either way this was one of my most anticipated games of this year and I really want it to reach its true potential which i dont think it can with out solid dlc and all the stuff they mention sounds great but it actually has to come out in order to please the community. Not to mention that they really should release a vehicle and playable race with every pack and if they think they can make a second season of the show they should be capable of making at least a second dlc. However I thought for a while that even the first dlc might not come out.

One thing to keep in mind is the game only has Trick,a few devs,and if their lucky,perhaps a couple of monkeys and some magic beans to work with to get things done.
There is no magic pill for getting out content packed wowie zowie dlcs.
That's a bummer in a nutshell.
Until the game starts bringing in more money or sy fi kicks in some dough for voice actors and writers I think this is just about it.
Small scale dlcs with as much content as they can scratch together with the small staff they have at hand.
So I will stick with "nope" for the answer to the "is there a release date for dlc2?" question until after they open up the test servers for the pc crowd to try it out.
For what it's worth I think they are doing their best and this is just how that looks from our side of things.

One thing that i really love is how i can have so many views but pretty much no responses this community needs to wake up seriously!

Wake up and tell you what? That we don't know? That we doubt there's even anyone at Trion who knows? The lack of responses should have been enough to give you a clue that no one really knows.

I just came back and trying to get my bearings again, but I can safely say DLC#2 will probably come out winter of next year.

1-The reason is this game relies on the show and cross-promotion to maintain its player base.
2-They won't come out with DLC#2 only 2 months after releasing DLC#1. They're still fixing the kinks on the 1st one.
3-They are probably still benefiting from DLC#1's release
4-When their numbers start to wane again by Winter 2014, they can revitalize them by releaseing DLC #2. Plus they've had enough time to work on it.
5-By the time their numbers start going back down, June 2014 Defiance Season 2 comes out. That will revitalize them again.
6- By Sept-Oct 2014 their numbers will wane again and...
7- DLC #3 can come out in time for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas.

By now I'm sure you see the pattern

I know right!
I didn't believe that one. Still paid full price for the game though. I didn't buy the Season Pass though because I knew it wasn't going to happen and the discount amount was insufficient to give them my $$ upfront.

I've played MMOs since the mid-90s since UO (Ultima Online) and as an avid player, I know it's never that fast. Or easy.

Besides, they can stretch it out and keep most ppl hooked/interested/coming back for a longer period of time this way.

Since no one else pointed this out, even if the DLC was done and complete yesterday, the Devs still wouldn't know the actual release date.

Sony and Microsoft still would have to verify/test the release first. This was ONE of the many delays with the Castithan Charge Pack, the last one in fact. It is why the release was pushed for July to August.

After the DLC 1 delays, most of us have figured out it's a waste of energy asking about it. It will come out when/if it comes out. Bored with Defiance? Go play another game for a while... might I suggest Saints Row IV, Diablo III, Borderlands 2, or NHL 14? It what I do. I still love Defiance and play on a regular basis, but at times I'm bored with running from Arkfall to Siege to Arkfall, or grinding kills. So, I go kill people with the power of Dubstep, or wail on demons, or melt Psycho Migets with acid, or go for a Big Texas....

The game is interesting and you can always come back to it. That's an advantage of being tied to the show. If you're a sci-fi fan, you'll watch the show and get drawn back into the game. Which is the point.

Tons of games out there. GTA5, RTW2 for the RTS fans and a whole bunch of others. Lots of competition nowadays. Social media makes it even more insane. They got to get creative. Hell, in September, I saw a headless British soldier roaming Manhattan. Turns out it was for the Sleepy Hollow tv series.

Aside from burning $60 (standard price for a new game nowadays) people will just move to another game. Which hurts because the industry has adopted this "DLC shtick" to combat piracy. So they make extra monies off it which they can't make if you run off to game #2, #3, and #4.
