the problem isn't that they are adding content it is the timing of the content update, everyone in the gaming industry knows you don't pull down an MMO on a Saturday afternoon. that's like a TV network pulling down the station during a Football game. Saturday afternoon is Prime-time for the MMO's if you pull your server during prime time people go elsewhere.

Every time they do a loot weekend it messes things up...clan stuff goes down....that's why there hasn't been one since the DLC...they don't know how to fix it...my friend Jesse does freelance work for IBM....fixing problems...hey Trion call ibm and see if you can hire him....he can fix what you guys are incapable of...

I know what you mean but it would be an inconvenience to someone somewhere no matter when they do it.

It's to add content. In addition to the xp and loot boost which only required flipping a switch in the code, to celebrate Trion Worlds games for the week they are adding goodies to Rift and Defiance. Defiance is getting Epic Mod Hoards containing four never-before-seen epic-tier mods and Jackpot Lock Boxes which are special Tier 4 Lock Boxes that have a chance of giving you an additional regular Tier Four Lock Box.

Someone really needs to rattle the monkeys cages and force feed them coffee and no-doz so they can work on the servers at night. It only seems like a natural thing to do if the server is a North American Server to work on them when your audience is most likely not to be trying to play. Working on the servers during daylight hours and especially on weekends is definitely not conducive to a brilliant marketing move. Hmm lets force our audience to try to find something else to do when we want them to play our game and support our product. Poo-Poo on you Trion for your not so genius maintenance scheduling, time to put on the big thinking caps and act like a real gaming company.
