    Trion versus Rockstar?

LOL apparently even though; unlike Trion, Rockstar made over 1 BILLION dollars off the game they are still doing as bad if not worse than Trion is *was?*. Maybe Trion isn't so bad after all. Least we KNOW they don't have a real budget yet to save their game. Rockstar does and tey are STILL botching that game to hell and gone. Props to Trion. Gotta give Trion credit, least they have a reason *of one can call it that* What's Rockstar's excuse?

Yeah Rockstar had to resort to 'editing for troll* comments now. When you are doing bad the best damage control is hiding complaints instead of dealing with them. I think a lot of their devs are some of Trion's old coders. Boy did they waste money...

I have a dozen friends that play that game and nobody has said anything about that game being bad....they had the issue with connecting the online after the into...but that got fixed...rockstar has a big budget cuz apparently people like their games...they seem to be proven...and what was funny about the first post...I've reread it 3 times...pissing yourself?

Yes let's compare a game that's been out 7-8months that still has bugs from launch that dropped its price 3 weeks after release because of bad sale. It's player retention is horrible.
Now to GTA V the game runs smooth both online and in single player mode has masses of people playing it and will do for the foreseeable future, the single player campaign has 10x more content than defiance and so does the multiplayer and how anyone can compare trion and rockstar with a straight face must be insane

I heard Rockstar had a new system for dealing with cheaters. They put them in their own place so can't play with the general population. Instead they get to 'play with themselves.' Heh. I made a funny

Not a bad idea if you ask me. Trion should look into implementing some form of it. Though players may get 'arm weary'. Bada Bing! Another one! God I'm good!
Aliens exist! It's true! I see them in stores stocking shelves, making pizzas, etc. Yesterday I called a restaurant that delivered, and one of them brought me food. Still don't believe me? Maybe you know them by their more common name: Illegal Aliens.

Lets compare a bit more, shall we!!!

Defiance - After 7-8 months I still can't play for a whole night without being disconnected from the servers multiple times and we still haven't had a satisfactory answer as to what's happening with this. In all the time I've played (which is most nights since launch) I've only ever managed one whole night without a disconnect or freeze...Still no news on DLC 2 yet. Hardly anything new to do for weeks now. I completed the story in about three days and after a couple of months I'd done all the online activities there were to do. The first DLC brought something new to the table but, again, took only a couple of days to complete.

GTA V - After the first couple of days when there was (openly admitted by Rockstar with full details of what the problem was) issues with the servers, I've been able to log on and play anytime and for extended periods without any disconnections or freezes. I haven't been disconnected or kicked from the servers for, at least, the past two weeks... I've still only done about half of the activities in the game so far and about a quarter of the activities online and all the activities have re-playability value. The first DLC was announced yesterday. It's out in November along with more activities and character upgrades (Guns, clothing, hairstyles, tattoos, etc)...Oh yeah, and it's all FREE!!! All players are getting half a million GTA$ as a sorry for the problems at launch and a thank you for sticking around through them. We'll be getting it before the end of October.

Guess which game I keep coming back to at the moment!!!

In my opinion, the problem lies squarely with the development staff and it's obvious to see.

Defiance is a truly great game which had massive potential but it is, again, in my opinion, being let down by a dev team that no longer believes in the game, or that it can be saved and I really do believe they are just 'Going through the motions' until the decision is made, for better or worse, to shut the servers down.

GTA V is clearly supported by a dev team which believes in it's product and wants it to succeed. Their people actually play the game, they want to retain a player base and not just attract new players. It's obvious that their team love what they've produced and that makes all the difference.

I too have to laugh at the OP's post. It's pretty obvious he/she has never played GTA V.

I've played both and I know which one is better (For me, at least) hands down, all the way!!!

    # Just saying!!! Good post marshy.
    In Game - WR41TH
Xbox Live - XX WR41TH XX
    Clan - Wandering Nomads (Founder)
    Region - UK
"I've played a total of one whole night, since launch, without multiple disconnection issues - Here's the deal - There's lots of other games out there to play now so I'll carry on playing most nights, as I do now, but the first time I get disconnected, I'm off to play something else - How's that for you Trion."

"My heart might not be pure - but at least it's in the right place!"
    "Aum shivaya vashi"

I knew this would happen to GTA. So much content off the shelf = so much more can go wrong. I told everyone to buy GTA for its single player experience not for its online play.

Players got weeks worth of loot and XP bonus in Defiance to make up for the 'hard times'.

I think giving all players half a mil in GTA along with players who used the car glitch to earn 100s of millions is far off worse. It was a cheap way of Rock Star saying sorry by making everyone rich.

And Trion does believe in Defiance. If they didn't then they wouldint even be bothering with changing the inventory system or the UI to be more user friendly.

The way I see it is that Defiance hit a real rough patch from the get go with tons of different things in and outside the game. They are pretty much rehauling the game now step by step. Its no secret that in Round 1 Defiance got its *** kicked. But Round 2 is coming up with Season 2 and a bunch of new players to go with it.
