Thread: These textures

    These textures

They're pretty bad. I admittedly don't know a damn thing about game development but I'm a little surprised they couldn't release hi res textures for the pc.

Reminds me of the horrid graphics of ME3

Nothing wrong with the textures. It's a huge game, with lots of people, on three different platforms. Were you expecting Tomb Raider, Crysis 3, or some other System Resource sucking singe player game graphics?

The graphics are great for what we're playing. Look great on my system.

From what I remember the graphics in ME3 were pretty good. What are you comparing this game to that it looks bad in comparison?

And if you say something like Far Cry 3 I'm going to have to ask you to sit in a corner with this cone-shaped hat on your head...

LMAO! I wish there was a 'love' button for posts like on the Rift forums. Great post!

Yes textures are bad (bas as in = eww resolution). You notice it mostly in the cinematics but often in gameplay aswell (the ground, the walls.. my eyes! argh). You notice that this is a multi platform game. There can(!) be nice texture resolution in online games too. Lord of the Rings Online did it, the high rez textures are even up to this date nice, i think Rift did it better (the problem there was with ever repeating ground textures, mostly noticed in the distance with huge fields) and i could name other online examples with better textures as we have in Defiance.

It is of course still playable this way, but it is one of the few things that i would wish for.

Maybe they will release a HD graphics set for those on PC?

*Suddenly bursts out laughing and slowly tapers off, wiping a tear from her eye.* Yeah, right! We can hope though.

Most likely not and i can live with the game as it is, hellbug, i still play Ultima Online on a Freeshard in the old classy 2D Engine hehe. I knew what i was getting into, still in this day and age many of us are spoiled with graphics (on a PC.. with some non-port games).

The mass effect series in general was known for having terrible textures. Both 1 and 2 had 3rd party texture packs you could download.

If you truly believe textures in ME3 were "pretty good", you're the one in need of a dunce cap

I would be more than willing to slip on the dunce cap if textures were more important to me than gameplay. However, I am an old old woman who remembers playing games with 8bit sprites and gleefully having fun.

So no, graphics aren't important to me and I don't remember ANYONE ever complaining about ME's graphics and I spent a lot of time on the Bioware forums.
