So as we know, we must link our Xbox console to our account to claim our Ark rewards. My concern is, if we link our accounts to this specific console, what does that mean if we are to hypothetically get a new console? Will there be a way to *attach* a new console to our accounts, or will we have to purchase a new license/copy? Just very curious. Thank you for responses.
I think once you ''link to console''* it attaches itself server side, on to your actual account for Defiance(well that would be the logical thing to do lol). If no one knows for sure or if someone like say a dev or Sledgehammer decides to answer it, but I'll know in a bit(well a while lol) since I'm installing the game on a second Xbox at the moment(using same Gamertag of course). And yes if haven't already realized, your characters are saved server side and not on your Xbox, so shouldn't matter if you play it on another Xbox. As long as you are using the GT you used to create your characters, you will be able to access them. (was for the beta 3 and very likely same with actual game)

Ha, very true. That would be the most logical way to go about things, and makes complete sense. I've played many of MMOs and should have realized that this may be the same process, mind blank I suppose. Hopefully this will be the way it will be treated Thanks for the heads up!
Okay, I've finally downloaded the updates to client and have got on, on that Xbox. My character there? Yes. Then I clicked on ''link account'' again on this xbox and it gives the same code as other one did. (I didn't think quite through for when Ark Rewards are probably still not working*) I would say it is safe to assume that it's like this: Defiance game server account is connected to your GT and vice versa. When you ''link to console'' it just uses that to link your GT plus Defiance server game account to your Trion account.
*This is what I did, got the ''link to console'' code from my first Xbox, turned it off etc**, used the code to connect Trion account to ''console'' so then if the Ark rewards where there, it means that the code to link to console was used to actually link your Trion account to your Defiance game server account which in turn is connected to your GT. To me it all makes sense but I just think ark rewards aren't working. (also when I put the code in to link to my ''console'' it linked to ''it'' with no problem even though it was turned off)
**What unintentionally helped me to come to a better conclusion in this thread, cause I turned it off and connected it to ''console'' before even saw this thread lol.
But yeah the whole ''linking to console'' needs clearing up, it most likely is how I explained it because why would it actually just connect to a console instead of your Defiance server game account plus GT? lol.
Edit: So the Ark reward things eventually did appear in ''claim item''(think called that) bit thing on that console, even though I didn't link it to that one... I would think it's safe to say I was right or at least part right lol.

The only thing I have found that is binded is that if you install the game on one console, but try to switch consoles and HDD, you will not be able to play even with the disc in the other console, unless you reinstall on that console as well. Think all installations work that way, but my first time trying via physical disk.
i put in my codes and it says success and says it gave me 1 point but my progression of 120 still says 0 i dont get it
the likelyhood of having to replace your xbox is pretty high (up to 87.3% up until their latest batch of "fixed" and improved xbox who have a 54.7% failure rate), so the concern about how the defiance account is tied to your console is valid. While it would make sense for microsoft and Trion to tie this to your xbox live ACCOUNT..I cannot say if that is so, and microsoft is into making cents.. not sense....

This same thing is happening to me. I would love to know what the deal is with this. I'm afraid to use any more codes cause I dont want to use them up if they are not being registered. Can anyone answer this?
This thread may have a good answer somewhere but since I have two copies and two rrod's (aaarrgh) I will post the results as soon as I can replace at least one of the (insert expletive) black boxes of doom. Also got two white boxes for spares if anyone has a good idea of what I can do with them ;D
One console repaired and one replaced. No problem with either profile on either console...(profiles stored on usb these days). All seemed normal but went back to Trion "link-to-console" for good measure. select "unlink" then get new link code from game settings and link as before.
