I didn't do this glitch, and so none of my scrip is gone. BUT! There's always a but... These same people that admit to taking advantage of poor programming also are missing much more scrip than they earned through the vendor.

Was this the intended punishment? Was this punishment even warranted? It was nice seeing a lot of trading going on. And it's also nice to see Trion take action against a form of cheating. But did they take it to far?

And you cant tell me that the developers did not see the price differences in sale and resale, so its the developers fault to begin with. Bunch of crap, I wont be spending another dime on this game for sure.
So says them. There is no way to prove the veracity of their statements. People say a lot of things on the Internet, and in gaming forums in particular, that aren't 100% completely accurate. I would take anything they say about missing extra scrip with a grain of salt.

Indeed. I too watched the livestream and it is not true. The vendor was placed in game specifically for the Extra Life event and for players to get unique items only available from that vendor. That was the sole purpose of the vendor. What happened here is that there was a glitch (aside from the spawning glitch) that allowed players to buy those items and then immediately resell them for a 1K profit each. Rightly, Trion is now rectifying that exploit by removing that extra scrip from players who clearly took advantage of the glitch.

Again trion putting effort into taking away from old school players instead of giving me dlc.

Sorry, but are you like 14 or something? You can't even put together a decent curse. It's just painful to read and serves no purpose but to make you look juvenile. Contributing a civilized retort or agreement would be far more productive.

I agree with the rest of your post, but of course you didn't see people talking about it openly on the live stream. People who knew about the glitch were in two categories:
    - those who wanted to exploit it as much as possible, and hoped it wouldn't get fixed
    - those who wanted the problem fixed so that it didn't create havoc

Now the second category of people probably reported the exploit, but they didn't go into the livestream chat and yell: "GUYS THERE'S AN INFINITE SCRIP EXPLOIT AT THE EL VENDOR", because that would have been counterproductive. I know I tried to be more subtle than that. When dahanese acknowledged my report she said they were already aware of it, so I wasn't the only one to report it discreetly.

Ok ok people, let's keep things peaceful.. So the EL vender had an exploit. People used the exploit to get big scrip. So just take the scrip that was exploited, away from the players. Don't do anything else, just that. To take more is unjust, especially to those that sold things to the vender without exploiting the glitch, and to ban players for it is a bit of a hypocritical move.. There are plenty of other exploits that players use in the game that they aren't banned for, so it's not the wisest move to take a group of people that did one exploit, ban them, and not ban the rest of the exploiters. If things were fair, the ones that exploited the vender glitch would have the exploited scrip taken away, and the ones exploiting shield glitches, the charge blade, etc would just get nothing from PvP matches or arkfalls. Or to be fair, ban every exploiter that ever exploits anything, though they'd likely lose a BIG part of their player base.

As for whether the economy sparked or not.. I can say that on the Ps3, it indeed did spark up. I'd log on most days and see maybe two or three people looking to buy/trade. But the last few days Iv'e logged on, Iv'e seen a whooole lot more people buying and trading. I'd be willing to say it was 10 times more than the amount I'd gotten used to seeing on a normal day, before the scrip exploit.

No one has reported any backlash who didn't absolutely exploit the vendor pricing, so it doesn't appear Trion is going after the people who may have simply sold a few pieces of old gear at inflated prices. Also, I don't see how a trifling 24 hr ban is unwarranted. Honestly, it was probably necessary. Without it, as soon as word of what was happening got out, you know exploiters would be trying to spread their ill-gotten scrip around among friends and alts to try and protect it.
