Trion – Another Idea For Fixing Pre-Patch 1.105 Weapons

So I’m an idea guy – in case you haven’t guessed already. I know the whole Pre-Patch Weapons vs. Post-Patch Weapons topic has been beaten to death, but I’m here to bloody the corpse just the same.

So I laid out my vendor re-roll idea here: http://forums.defiance.com/showthrea...n-Some-Scratch – the thread was quite popular, with almost 6000 views and the responses were plentiful and encouraging; from players only of course.

Here’s another idea to help Trion address the issue. (If they intend to address it is certainly unknown to me but as long as the problem exists I plan to continue bringing it up.)

-- How about Trion employs a similar tact to what Diablo III is planning?

A roll-replacement “vendor” or salvage-matrix option that allows players to add or replace a roll(s).

The vendor can serve multiple purposes:

    1. Add rolls to Pre-Patch 1.105 weapons – the vendor can offer to add a blue or white roll to an “old” weapon for nominal scrip or salvage fee. This would allow for a choice for veteran players to augment their existing weapons to follow the new patch, or not. This also would allow them to keep their favorites but would still result in antiques – such as guns with 15% Self-Revive and other unfavorable rolls…

    2. Replace a Roll – So for those still-antique weapons you would charge a higher fee to “Replace a Roll” – advance the charge scale up from Common rolls costing the least to replace and Mastery rolls and Orange rolls the most costly to replace.

    3. Add rolls to Post-Patch 1.105 weapons – the ability to make an Epic into a Legendary is something players have asked for multiple times – this vendor could serve that purpose. (Or to turn a great Blue into a Purple)

Here’s the kicker…not only do you charge a ton of scrip/salvage for turning an Epic into a Legendary but you also make the resultant Legendary into an Untradeable Weapon. Why? Well simply, this will keep the market safe from floods of new Legendary weapons and allow players to keep their treasured weapons (perhaps you could even allow the players to rename these untradeable weapons as they see fit.)

I’d imagine a system like this being immensely popular with players as we get to “craft” our weapons to a degree. This would most certainly satisfy most of the veteran players with inventories full of pre-patch “old” weapons and would entice new players too.

Trion I know that you wish this game to change, your weapon improvements have shown that, now take it a step further…

Seconded of course. Overt always has great ideas. Especially love the turning purples into untradable legendaries part.

    Give it up overkill....

I was with you at the start bro, but Trion aint listening.....they ARE NEVER going to listen!

They wont even REPLY to your posts, why do you think they will implement our ideas (even if they are amazing)

    Vets=They want us gone.

We remember to much of the start, and all the horrible things that went with it.

Honestly it's a bit too late, most veteran plays I know have either sold off all their prepatch weapons or quit the game. For those that sold off their prepatch weapons having them "fix" it now would probably cause them to quit.

On the whole not bad ideas but can you imagine every one adding multiple crit rolls to assassin synergies.

What does that that matter when the assassin synergy doesn't even add to the base crit on whatever weapon its on
