I'm with you. We need more challenging content and all they have been doing it making it easier. The buff to the weapons were good but this game was already easy and that made it easier, and now the stims will make it even easier. I also don't like the granade changes I like the way granades work now.
Trion has been making a lot of bad priority decisions instead focusing on making challenging content they make it more easy. Instead of making a better UI/ chat or balancing ego powers they try to fix something that's not broken (granades).

What I think they should he doing first is a better UI/ chat/ inventory management and salvage. Drop the requirement for all PvP maps, give better PvP rewards, fix military academy, and balance ego powers for PvP. Then they should focus on hard challenging content. They should also find a way to reward high ego players. For a long time we had to put up with really high salvage matrix costs and then all the weapons we collected became almost useless after the patch. Then the extra life vendor gave lower ego players access to better weapons with syphon but not max ego players.

I love this game and is one of my favourites but this dlc they bring out im beginning to think wasn't worth the cost of the season pass. I mean free dlc content is so close to paid content. And first dlc I really couldn't care less. It was dire and best described as an update rather than dlc. Nothing to it. Dlc 2 is more arkfalls (already in the game and is just a re-skin of nims place. EH? Seems lazyily done), stims (so not needed and such a minor part of dlc, and now the game goes from taking candy from a baby to getting candy handed to you on a gold and silver platter while being fed with a platinum spoon), grenade changes (so not necessary and should be in a patch). What is going on!

And who knows what dlc 3 is. Maybe a new weapon, vehicle and one new story mission.

I've seen patches in other games that had more content than this season pass.
Don't get me wrong I really love this game and want to see it accomplish in reaching its true potential. But i don't know. Maybe when the rest of dlc's come out il be like yeah this is so worth it. But this is how I feel now.

Slightly going off topic but I wanted to make a comment on the future. As much as the game prides itself on the horizontal progression, I need to progress something, and the gear chase just isn't enough for me.

In the last stream the death march highlights some of the flaws in the game when you don't have a story to progress, you do have to aimlessly wander around to feel like you are accomplishing anything. Personally I would live to give a higher focus to these open world activities.

    REPUTATION

A good start is a focus on contracts, with the progression of the reputation, and the ability to then purchase gear from vendors is a small progression, however the interface for that needs to be given a lot of love.

    - Using existing mechanics (more or less) I would like to see reputation being earned for activities completing emergencies and associated activities, as you complete or kill enemies you gain reputation like you would experience.
    - The reputation would unlock vendors which sell unique gear such as named weapons, outfits or titles.
    - Reputation as it is gained would appear as floating combat text much in the same way that experience does.
    - The enemies that reward reputation would change as part of a weekly update, similar to weekly contracts.
    - Emergencies as you pass them would have part of the bar with the name on it dedicated to telling you the rewards for the activity, an icon that represents the difficulty of the encounter, the keycode rewards and the faction that it would award reputation to.

    COSMETIC

Another area I would like to address since the game needs income for development. Once the optimizations are done to player rendering as an expansion to the social hub activities.

    - Outfit mannequins near vendors in the major hubs.
    - This would show a model of an outfit without having to jump into the store.
    - Also used to highlight new or featured outfits.
    - Interacting with the model would take you to the relevant store page.

At some point I should probably flesh out and write down more ideas, so I can dream...

What really erks me is how they make/do/change what "they" want and not what "we" want...like we really give a crap about the junk they keep coming up with.

Il stick with the game as I still love playing it. Just wish the dlc was full of content and not crumbs.

Sorry to say, but they seemed a bit out of touch with the game.

The reaction to the infector was telling. Hopefully they'd notice at some point, the sorry performance of it.

If I remember correctly, Trick wanted to put a +mag mod on the missile launcher, A mod I haven't seen in... well... for quite a while. And someone ought to tell him, that there are no synergy nano converter mods for sniper rifles.

All in all, I'm a little worried, that the creative lead thinks volge emergencies as well as certain other content is hard. The weapon patch made things easier. Grenade gate will make things easier. Spikes and stims will make it even easier. As it looks right now, the instanced arkfalls might very well be soloable.

From watching the way they play on the live feeds and hearing the way they talk, both in response to questions and in-game, it's painfully obvious (No matter what they say, here on these forums, and would like us to believe) that none of them devote any more time actually playing this game than they have to.

It's almost embarrassing sometimes how little knowledge they have of gameplay...And I'm talking here about knowledge that someone who has played any more than a week would know straight away. Next time you watch the live feed, look at the difference in how they talk about 'Rift' in comparison to 'Defiance'. You can tell they play it and enjoy playing it. They're knowledgeable about it and animated in their discussions on it...Not so much where 'Defiance' is concerned.

I feel the whole crew is so far out of touch with the real player base, due to this lack of knowledge, that I worry the game will never get fixed because the team doesn't play or enjoy playing the game enough to get it sorted out.

How can they honestly expect us to continue playing and supporting the game when it 'appears' they don't...

Yeah, I will agree with what some other people have already said... some of the responses that I heard during yesterday's live stream did seem rather... out of touch.
