why don't you try going into gameplay options and increase the chat fade, it makes the chats stay on longer and yes chats do appear on the lower right hand side, just watch and see

Thats true, they do, but often it seems that a buffer fills, and it stops updating.
So it's not a completely adequate work-around.

Sorry Max, but they already said 360 players will NOT get the friend and chat improvements, and for that matter they currently are NOT planning on giving us Skype either, even though it will be a main focus for X-BONE.

Really? That's pretty silly. What happens if I play on my Xbox One, then go back to my 360? The only way that can be done is if they have 2 separate lists and we need to create our One list from scratch.

This kind of thread blows me away, chat is there and so is voice chat ingame. But some players don't even know how to set it or even use it,, IE how do I whisper, well ya don't whisper you PM with a /w players name here

I've tried everything I could think of to make my chat work better: adding filters, removing filters, making chat fade quickly, making chat fade slowly... At best the bottom right window will work for maybe 5 minutes, and then it'll just stop displaying anything. Maybe there's a way to make it work, but if it does exist it is just not obvious.

Personally, I like how some text shows up in that useless three-line thing on the loadout screen, but the same chat is nowhere to be found in the big chat window. Clearly the only interface designer they had got canned in the post-release massacre and now the coders/designers they still have are trying to muddle through, but really don't know what they're doing when it comes to this sort of thing.

This has been alluded to in past posts and livestreams. Someone had to volunteer to take on the interface and it's issues--it wasn't anyone's job.

A big problem with that little window;
Ego, system, and reward stuff pushes player text out. Even when filtered out.
It's also a big pain trying to hunt through old text.

Just another issue attributable to the devs being programmers and not players.

It's easy to 'fix a problem' if you yourself don't have to use the solution.

I'd say that's why there's a test- server.
And a community to give feedback.

What's scary is how often I have agreed with you lately, this being another of those times. Since they are letting those with both systems just use one membership, it would be great if they atleast increase the friends list. Let's hope they do patch it in for us at some point.
