There are "some" scifi games but not incredibly good ones.

Hellgate - Not a bad little MMO but not fantastic either.
Fallen Earth - Pretty decent depth to it but it's one of those you need to invest a lot of time into to get anything out of it.
Global Agenda - Only played a little bit of it but it seems an okay shooter.

There are probably more but nothing really thrilling you'd want to shout from the roof tops. The MMO market, especially shooter/scifi MMO's, is quite lacking at the moment.

    My thoughts exactly.

I have this weird little thing that I do with games like these where I just play it as if I were roleplaying on it, though just playing normally when with friends and running around destroying bad guys. Looooove the show too, which also drags me into the game even more, and honestly, I just love killing **** ingame, it's so pleasing, especially in PvP. I usually do really bad in pvp, but when I kill someone I get so happy lol. Not to mention if I do decent/good, puts me in such a good mood. I'll be with this game until it either 1) dies, or 2) It gets better and better, in which case, I'll continue shooting shtako. Volge shall not pass my friends, and their bombers shall not splashdmg.

I can't afford newer games anyway, and even if I could I will still play Defiance.
Going to be trying playing Destiny too, going to do whatever I can to get it.
Haha that is awesome and pretty much why I play too! Great to see someone else that feels like this about their games.

Along the lines as to what Atticus stated, the Volge is the ONLY enemy you can't run head first into and just run them over. The CO-OP mission are fairly easy as well. The game never puts you in a hard pressed spot to where someone would need a medic and/or tank with you in order to make it past that point in the game. Enough rounds down range will solve any combat problems you will face.

I love the arkfalls, and sieges the best. I also love jumping my dune buggy over any kind of jump to get some big air.

One thing i don't care for anymore is the pvp. I do suck because of to many people are finding ways to cheat. Even though the game lets them do it.

Really, they're as bad as it gets? I haven't done any Arkfalls or Sieges yet but I've had to clear out a few Volge emergencies that were in the way of my quests. While not as run 'n gun as everything else, I've had zero issues clearing them solo. Granted I do use stealth which makes it significantly simpler.

I'm beginning to wonder if the purple AR that I managed to buy at the start from the first vendor (was on special) is making the game even easier. It was 10k scrip and it's lasted me all the way through (currently at EGO550 just killed the maniac radar with Torc & Cooper. I've done all the sidequests/challenges up to here.)

Fully automatic, sight is not scoped (a plus), dmg:357, fire rate: 9.0. Better than anything I've managed to find in game, perhaps I'd be more challenged without it. (Called FRC Assault Carbine)

Between that and a bolt-action sniper, I haven't had issues with anything. Being on a PC helps as well.

I'm only new but it has a Borderlands / Mass effect feel to it both of which games i love, so Defiance is great, sadly the chat is a downer but the rest seems amazing.

I play because the game is fun.

I had a slight interest in the game because of the crossover concept with the show, but I am not a shooter gamer (my last shooter was the original Doom). I much prefer RPGs. After I saw the first episode of the show, I was significantly intrigued to pick up the game and give it a try (thanks in part to the B2P business model).

I've got well over 1,000 hours into the game at this point and still enjoy logging in every day even though the only pursuit I have left is buying stuff from the Echelon vendor, and leveling a few more weapon skills to max.

I just simply enjoy running/driving around the game, doing the random odd emergency, and completing the daily contracts, which including PvP. It's repetitious and a grind, but I grew up in the days of white/green-lined maze dungeon crawling, so this is a piece of cake in comparison.

The B2P model is much nicer in that it doesn't give the feeling of having to log in to get one's money's worth. The overall design helps that too, in that if I take a day or two off, I don't have to worry about missing a piece of special or one time only content (one of the big factors that drew me to the original Guild Wars and has kept me playing).

I enjoy the fact that I am in a big clan, though a lot of us aren't as active at this point in time, and can enjoy content with clan mates, or solo. As always with a Themepark game, there is always the wish for more content at a faster clip, but quite frankly, Trion's pace allows me to play the game on my own terms and schedule and allows me to enjoy many other games in between Defiance sessions.

Like the original Guild Wars, I plan on sticking around and playing until the servers are shut off (hopefully in both cases, that will be after I am dead!)
