So I acquired the oj shield below and did some testing with it. First off, here are the stats:
847 Ironclad Brawler V ARK
+20% Melee Damage when shield down
1644/10/6
First test involved me and a clan mate going into duel mode. I melee'd him and noted the 527 dmg. I then had him shoot me up until I lost my shield (shield down, not just broken) and even a bit of my health. I then smacked him again...527 dmg. Wha....? Isn't it supposed to be up 20%? We did this a few times, with full shields gone, with partial shields gone, after shield recharged, etc...it was consistently 527 dmg.
Afterwards, I went out and laid the smack down on some hellbugs, Raiders, DM, etc....using the same methodology: melee them when shield is full to establish the benchmark, then let them hit me a bit and melee both when shield is broken and all the way down, including eating into some health. Most of the time, the dmg remained the same (eg. 999 for Raiders before and after shield down).
Am I missing something here? Or perhaps this is considered a glitch shield?
Anyone with a Brawler ARK or any other ARK shield of the same ilk (eg. Contender) can confirm this with their own test? Thanks.
