    why oh why

Why is it that everyone all of a sudden think that everything is worth a vbi or surge bolter or a 4 fire rate cannonneer canker ? Certain items yes . Like example if u have a surge bolter yes u should b able to trade a vbi for it and vice versa but seriously I see everybody trying to trade a spanner or flash or a dam berserker shotty for a 5 crit assassin wolfhound . Did I miss something ? Is every single gun equivalent now ? And if they r y isn't everyone happy with what they have ? Common ppl there r maybe 6 ppl that even still use this form or trade tool and u wonder why lol lets all pull our heads outta our .... And start doing smart business. U have something u really don't want then sell it . Oh but wait u have too much scrip . Then don't sell it . Keep it in ur inventory cause obviously u feel it's value is high . If u have a b or c class weapon don't expect a class trade for it unless u plan on putting a few in the deal . If someone wants a few b class weapons for there a class Kool less inventory u have to worry about . If they have 1 good gun and expect 1 good gun in return and u want that gun then u better b prepared to pony up . If ur not ready to pony up the stay ur ... Out of the ring .

The real problem is that value of items is completely in the eye of the guy/girl holding the weapon and completely means jack s**t.
it used to be that the base line would be a nice five roll ar was the top valued weapon (before nerf it was syphon saws), now every single weapon has 5 or six rolls none of wich are bad now that faceplant rolls have been removed so 99.9% of pre patch stuff holds no value to most people.

    eg:

now you happen to like cankers alot and feel that there worth the world (hence the big bounty you were running), me on the other hand as somone that doesnt pvp (yet) has very little interested in tossing a trade window full of items or a million scrip to get 1 of those infamous cannoneer cankers.

so if we dont agree on the items said value wich of us is wrong in that example? and thats just one possible trade scenario....

the way I look at just about any trade offer these days is if I wont use it and dont know anyone looking for one I wont trade something I will use like a tachmag or a saw for somthing thats just gona collect dust.

like everyone else on this forum and in the game im hunting for a nice vbi ar or frc assault carbine and would toss alot of stuff at one that catch's my eye but just because its a vbi ar doesnt make it worth a crap if it doesnt have a natural nano the rolls and synergy are not what im looking for ;P

    just my 2 cents,

i agree i have seen this lately i have one six roll vbi its the single best gun in my inventory and im not giving it up for anything and i think thats what most people who have one are thinking and thats why most people who are trading big ticket items want one , back when i aquired my first five roll vbi i gave up a high cap rhino shield a fragnova and a big boomer and these days noone wants to give up the required items to get the number one item they just want to say my one item is worth it and thats it when if they gave up a little more like i did they would get that six roll vbi sometimes you have to make a sacrifice and as you said pony up or stay out of the ring

i totaly agree that if you want somthing nice you should be willing to give up somthing nice but here is the thing very few people pony up,
Most trader's have what they call "personal items" wich never get seen in windows even when trying to get a new "personal item" from you. they only want to show you there "trade stock" wich usualy is nothing good.

Yeah that's kinda my point if u want something good give something good but so many ppl expect something good for junk new 5 roll junk lol . This wasn't directed towards anyone person on here so I hope no one takes this personaly but just more to open a few eyes and lets all get some prospective on the situation

Couldn’t agree more. I have my post-patch radiation Cannoneer VBI AR with all the right rolls I’d ever want. Do I plan on trading this? I can’t imagine so. Does that mean I’m dead set on trading it down the line? Of course not. If I come across that 2x Crit roll assassin Wolfhound (*drooool*), you bet I’d put up that VBI instead of my Birdshot. As a seller, if someone were to toss up spanners and shotties for either of those, I’d decline politely but make a mental note of who not to offer nice stuff to in the future….and the clan will definitely hear of it as a pre-empt for any future dealings of nice items. This is particularly true of veterans or those with high EGOs: if all I see is trade bait in the window, I know there’re items held back so don’t count on a trade. Lesson learned; don’t waste my time again with that person on nice weps.

On the bright side, there are also players I’ve dealt with who are excellent. Once a rapport has been established, and a couple of good trades have taken place, I will work diligently with that individual for a mutually beneficial trade involving high value items. That may mean giving out a “discount” to certain folks, but it goes both ways and I know those are the kind of people whom I will, without reservation, post up high value items and know I won’t be low-balled.

Past couple of weeks traded away: VBI AR (Grenadier), 2x TACC ARs, Heavy Assault, Surge Bolter, Particle Repeater, Clustershot, Bio/Flash/and Fragnova, 3x oj shields, Canker, 2x Mazu's..almost all fully modded. And the trade was smooooth and both parties walked away happy.

It's coming back to bite people in the a*& ....the attitude that this gun is worth the world because I own it....and to buy it from me you are going to have to give me everything and your first born...has convinced a lot of "traders" that they paid x for the gun...it should be worth that when they sell it...and if that gun is worth x...well then this one should be worth x+y...

if you get use to paying 3.00 a gallon for gas....you expect to sell it for 3.10 to make a profit...but everybody forgets gas was a dollar a gallon not that long ago...

Best of luck with that...trying to artificially control prices in a free market environment is always tough...people will pay what they think it is worth to them...

Oh for sure . And it'll b more of a scale thing like example vbi ar starts with 50 points adds 25 for a 1.25 crit or mag roll adds 0 for the 1.15 melee adds 25 for syphon adds 10 for the .50 acc the gun would have a 1.10 rating . A surge bolter would start with a 50 add 0 for each the acc rolls ( since they don't pertain to helping the gun ) add 25 for fire add 25 for 1.10 damage roll for a total of 100 . So for this hypothetical trade the vbi ar is 10 points higher value then surge . But it would basically b a giant list of rolls that r valid on guns and their value to the gun . So stuff like melee won't give any value to the gun if it's a ar but it would for a shotty . And this won't just b my personal opinion that's y I'm asking for everyone's input .
