Proper Siege Behavior

Glad to see that I am not alone in the way I go about sieges.

Until last night I was under this same train of thought. "If I see it moving, I shoot it til it's dead."

Last night I did a couple at Quarry. Stopped shooting and laid low at around 22.5k. On the 2nd siege, I arrived as stage 2 ended. Fired my first shot in stage 3. Hit 20,800 with 6 1/2 minutes left in the siege. Did my stop shooting and laying low routine, all the while complaining to my clan mates because it really isn't my mode of playing.

I topped the leader board, beating out the 2nd place player by 1100 pts. I had to laugh when they accused me of kill stealing when I hadn't even participated in the final +3rd of the event.

My new theory, is actually my old one. From this point on, if it moves I shoot it. Accuse me of whatever you want, or get better gear and better aim and best me.

Honestly, Hell Hammer, play your game your way and let the whiners drink kool-aid.

I think you guys are already being cool by laying off at 20k (once I hit 20k I look for people who need rescuing & wear down enemy & let other have kill shot(I thought that was helping - guess not so much); but nobody accused me of kill-giving). If someone accuses you of kill-stealing, they should be doing a little less observation & maybe more shooting. imo don't change your play style - can't please everyone, not even close

Really if all you do is "kill steal" you get a very small amount of points so people who complain about it have no idea how the sieges work and are probably just pissed that they didn't get to 20k. It's all about how much damage you do to the enemy. The exception really is the hulkers at the afflicted siege at ken farm. If you shoot a little more than the kill-shot you will get a ton of points, but the hulker kills are kind of like the lottery due to everyone at the siege shooting at them, so it really boils down to luck.

At volge sieges I like when there are a very small amount at a siege, like one last night where there where like 3 people myself included. At that one I soloed the first 4 rounds or so(and I waited quite a long time, other sieges on the map were well on their way). I also like when there are a ton of people. That's when I focus on heal assists and because I'm not doing much other than healing, I will upgrade turrets and help people who are downed. Whenever I focus on heal assists and there are enough people I always get a score above 20k and am pretty much always in the top 3.

I don't see any point in stopping shooting once you get to 20k. Sieges can get pretty fun once they get to some high stages so I think people should focus on progressing the siege.

Play the way you want and ignore the accusers of kill stealing because they don't know what they are talking about.

I gotta chime in on this one...hilarious encounter the other night at a Siege, guy would lay nades with a VBI Grenade Launcher and wait for me to whittle the enemy all the way down to get the kill. I was watching him sit there and wait...hilarious. (Eventually he did start flipping to a secondary and then back to detonate but still hilarious.) I made it a point to pick up my pace and tripled his score at 69K.

I haven't had anyone accuse me of kill stealing and I play the Sieges to my best (my average score is above 55K - my current high is only 88K)...though I'd love for a Nomad wielding noob to call me out as a kill stealer - I'd have fun with 'em in zone chat for all to see.

its true whoever does the most damage gets the most points its not about the kill so those other people who dont score over 20k either werent there long enough or need to rethink their weapon and perk loadout , personally i think anyone with a purple vbi who gets there near the begining and uses overcharge should hit 20 but i maybe wrong , on a side note i wish i could quote rebs quote (sigh)

All I use is a purple Vbi or Frc and if I get there with 8-10 minutes left I get my 20k most of the time

Should a person stop shooting when they get 20 k? Or should they keep going to try and get the siege past wave 10?

I would recommend that you keep killing after 20K, especially if you're good enough to get 20K early in the Siege. There are often a significant number of people at Sieges that, for lack of a better term, can't pull their own weight and kill too slowly either because of poor aim, poor loadout selection, poor weapon selection, poor prioritization of targets or any combination of the aforementioned factors. If you're good enough to score well and just stop when there are enough players that fall into that category the Siege may not even make it to wave 10. Help them out and give them more scoring opportunities even if some of them are ignorant enough to make infantile claims about "kill stealing".

There are others that understand how Sieges work and appreciate your efforts. I'm one of them. I am a very average player and my score is always higher when elite players show up and start slaughtering the Volge because we get to the higher waves faster which gives me more scoring opportunities.

Hammer and I play together and we are both trying to whittle down the necessary time for 20K...Hammer is being modest as he only needs a bit over 6 min to get 20K - I need a bit over 4 min - and both of us use purple ARs. LOL

You're right though - more players doing what we do and Sieges get to wave 15!!
