I wouldn't mind having pets, and just to be clear I mean purely aesthetic pets.

However combat companions would be neat as well, but I'd be surprised if we see any of those at launch.

I would much rather have combat companions to asthetic companions

Don't get me wrong I would love combat companions, I just see that as being a game-changer if they're not currently in.

I liked Fable 2/3's dog system how they're all the same stat-wise, but you can change the look of them and they can find and point out loot. Yet instead don't think they should attack or be killed though if they had pets that is.
If I were to be a pony I would be like Flutter Shy.

In my personal opinion I think in a shooter element game the first player to get their pet over to the other player (PVP) would have the upper hand. I would say maybe having beneficial stats on a pet that increases the player combat efficiency if they were to affect combat. (Also being an adorable little treasure/ammo hunter on the side)

I can imagine something like that happening in the TV show a cute pet goes around stealing stuff and the main characters girl likes it and takes it with them pandemonium ensues.

I find pets that just sit there or follow you and enhance you and die arent really realistic, at least they could realisticly defend

I've heard of no news regarding pets at all. Defiance has been following quite a realistic (at least in sci-fi) path, and having everyone run around with a magical dog that finds treasure just detracts from that.
