It wasn't 90%, it was 100%. I remember Notturno's narration of one of his videos of the exploit where he was saying something to the effect "look at this...he's taking no damage...noooooooo damage". It clearly has nothing to do with damage reduction perks stacking, which is why claiming that now that damage reductions don't stack Trion can take action against the exploiters is a load of horse shtacko. Notturno sent several videos along with his reports months ago. As he pointed out it would have been easy enough for Trion to take a look at the accounts and loadouts to at least get a sense of what was an wasn't going on but apparently they couldn't be bothered. Instead they poked around at perks and said "oh look, Thick Skinned can cycle three times in a row because we coded it wrong" and for whatever reason decided to not even address it and simply nerf the entire damage reduction perk system (and break the Thick Skinned perk in the process).

Aggree with almost everything. I only point out that your mistaken on one part because there is a big distinction between what the PC players run into vs the Xbox. I actually think it's 2 separate problems. The Xbox one is an exploit with a specific shield that makes people 100% invincible unless they take fire damage. The ones that Notturno found and recorded and that I also ran into were not invincible but pretty close, they had huge damage reduction of 90%+. The PC one could be anything even a 3rd party hack, I do not know the cause. Regardless though like you said it would have been easy to find these cheaters find the cause and ban them. Instead they broke perks for everyone.

Sorry I misread his earlier post. When he said flat damage resistance I thought he meant 100% but he meant that it just never ends. I do recall him saying no damage in his narrative but it was probably hyperbole.

I wasn't aware the game was so hard that some players needed multiple DR perks. :/ Or that players actually had to take cover. With my usual build which has cellular armor and regen, it just seemed too easy. I actually started playing with guns that I'm not used to using or nearly as good with as my VBI TACC AR and Sniper, and running without cellular armor and regen, just to make it harder. And it still wasn't challenging.

I'm not the greatest player in the world. I don't consider myself very skilled. I didn't imagine there were players that had it worse off than me though. I do apologize if I came off as not caring about those players. Believe me, I don't want the game to die.

So this may be a silly question.....do we know which perks will not work together now? From what I understand....it's just the perks that reduce damage....correct?

So in theory you can use Cellular Armor, Regeneration and Fortitude and they all would work at the same time? Only Cellular Armor reduces the damage you receive (the others are a health bonus and health regeneration) and then you would also benefit from any 1 weapon roll and any 1 shield roll.....right?

Have you ever solo defended a cap point at a Volge Siege with multiple players at the siege? If you don't take cover or at least jump and roll, even multiple Volge troopers aggroed on you will chew through your shields. If you're jumping your aim is compromised (or at least mine is) and if you're rolling you aren't shooting or reloading (I don't need reloading for the most part though because I include the Preparedness perk in my loadout) so it impacts your scoring. Holy shtako, it was an eye opener how much faster my health evaporated with only Detachment and Cellular Armor running (although someone posted that Cellular Armor isn't working either - I'm not sure that's true) and no stacking. It was still fun but it was definitely different.

Ever done a Dark Matter red Ark Core Arkfall with two inexperienced (or not very bright) players showing up to add to the mob count for waves? One keeps activating the spikes prematurely so the other doesn't get the benefit and I'm alternating between peeling either off the floor, killing Dark Matter, destroying the beacon and trying to do enough damage to the Core so that the numbers don't build to overwhelm us (neither of them are bothering to shoot the Ark Core). Yeah that went real well. Eventually it got overwhelming when they both died and extracted and there were multiple Dark Matter Monitors, Snipers and Enforcers all over the area. I might have been able to do something about it if I had Thick Skinned, Rear Guard, Cellular Armor and Detachment stacking (I've done so in similar situations in the past), but the whole thing got too frustrating with too much dodging and taking cover and not enough killing on my part so I just bailed.

I agree that damage reduction isn't an issue when the content is done as intended, i.e. co-op with players who know the drill. Hell I could run around naked with a white gun when Arkfalls and Volge Sieges get zerged, but the point is that's not always the case. I don't think the main story bosses are particularly hard to deal with either but it's clear that some players do. Lucky for them they'll be able to co-op with other players to defeat them in the future because if they had problems with them before it's just going to be hell for them to do it solo now.

Man, your sig is disturbing, and that movie you are quoting is also disturbing. I thought we'd all agreed that we would never mention IT to anyone, EVER.

That's correct although Thick Skinned apparently is broken and someone posted yesterday that so is Cellular Armor.
