Console shooters are irrelevant because this isn't a multiplayer console shooter. It's an mmo with shooter mechanics with the shooter pvp multiplayer aspect tacked on extra but never fleshed out or focused on. You said you believe pvp is the lower side because of broken mechanics, when the reality is the majority of people who play mmos do not care for pvp. If they wanted pvp they'd go play a FPS. And when you use phrases like "far more relevant' you're making certain implications.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

THE TRUTH IS SPOKEN. Kudos to you man. PvP in this game is next to unnecessary.
    My info is below!

PvP viability and relevance aside, why would Cloak need to shimmer? It's already visible as heck. All I can say about it is I am eternally thankful that we don't have friendly fire damage. The quickest way to get shot by me is to run around with Cloak on at a DM arkfall.

    I'd actually love friendly fire.

To some small extent I agree, however it would destroy the player base. Far too many people are incapable of keeping open lines of fire and will just run across everyone's field of fire even with friendly fire on. Once you got rid of everyone who rage quit because "everyone was team killing me!" you would end up slowing gameplay down a lot. Not for lack of participants but because our movements would be greatly restricted by having to manage friendly fields of fire... a problem the AI wouldn't have.

As it stands now, I don't have to worry about idiots running in front of me because they don't even block my fire... they actually make great cover.

Adding new maps is just going to make the queues longer because that's more people spread out. So until they actually fix the system itself I do not want them wasting time or resources on new pvp content. I mean look at the military academy. It never pops and it's still broken since it debut. Adding more of the same is just going to piss people off.

Besides, they already added the damage reduction nerf and broke perks in the process, there's your "pvp news"
I dont think adding the shimmer to cloak will take up that much resources since they already have the animation. This change is needed now more than ever since the damage reduction and weapon damage increase took effect. Its so easy to instant kill someone and find a weapon that can OHK. This should take priority. These changes have made cloak even more OP than it was before.

I'm am not a PVP player, no interest in it, if Trion didn't intend for PVP to be a big part of the game why are there so many PVP pursuits required to max out EGOs? IMHO PVP should be optional, possibly with special rewards for those that like it and play often. Been here since day one and have had my share of PVP "re-balancings " affect my PvE experience.

Your argument might actually have merit if pvp pursuits were actually as many as you implied, but they're not. I'm over 4,500 ego and I have 2 pvp pursuits done. PVP is a fraction of this game and was clearly thrown on at the end without fleshing out any of the details.

PvP was thrown in to give us something to do if we occasionally want to rage against other players for their stupid moves in PvE. As for the eg, it does NOT matter. The ONLY reason to get to 5000 is to PROVE that you can do EVERYTHING in this game, atleast somewhat well. That is all the pursuits are there for, is to show how much time one has put into every facet of the game. The Devs have said that several times.

There aren't. Less than 4% of the possible EGO rating points come from Competitive Multiplayer Pursuits. That shows how little consideration Trion gave to PvP in this game. It has been marketed as a Co-op PvE MMO since it was first hyped. You literally only need one 5 point Competitive Multiplayer Pursuit to reach 5000 if you have DLC 1 (although you do need trusted status with Echelon for the reputation pursuits and for the last EGO evolution pursuit but even with those it's still marginal) . With the release of DLC 2 you may not need any PvP pursuits at all as DLC 1 added 55.
