    Gents,

I appreciate you commenting with good feedback. I don't use regen or a health boost. It's just mind boggling that someone can lob a grenade at my feet and ohko me. (It didn't actually land at my feet, but i do know i was within a 5m radius from impact). I know grenades are designed to kill, USMC taught me a good deal about not being a dummy with them.

I was caught totally off-guard expecting a firefight at least, or for that Mrs.6666 to run me over again with the damn Hell on Wheels perk lol. If this is the case, i'm dropping my pyro-nade ASAP, and rocking cloack with grenades. Time to find camping snipers and drop a little surprise at their feet for a ohko ROFL!

I have a legendary Fragnova (EGO level in the 3500's) that does a max of 4024. So lets assume it hits you for the max.

You have a damage reduction of 6% so......

    4024 x 0.06 = 241
    4024 - 241 = 3783

If your shield has has 1450 capacity you will take a total of 2333 direct damage to your HP

    3783 - 1450 = 2333

I'm not quite sure how much HP players have total, but I would be believe that it would be enough to kill someone. I know I get one shots all the time with mine in PvP.

(Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

I believe there was a test done some time ago that concluded the initial number for player health is 2000.
So yes, running that 1450 shield, even with fortitude, would get said person killed.
    Buuut if cellular armor was used (9% DR) with fortitude (+225 health) then this would happen;
    4024 x 0.09 = 362
    4024 - 362 = 3662 (weird outcome)
    3662 - 1450 = 2212
    2225 - 2212 = 13
    13 remaining health.
That's so close I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
You might want to invest in cellular armor and fortitude mate.
Just for that extra half a second before you get your head blown off.

Wow, so this is definitely eye-opening. I suppose it's time to invest in a beastly frag-nova and find these campers :-).

Truly appreciate the input lady and gents. I'm still familiarizing myself with the math behind everything and this is definitely plausible. Hah, i thought the guy just had a super-saiyan grenade. Boy did I have it backwards, I thought that in 99% of the situations a pyro would be better to help sort out cloakers, pshhht frag-tastic baby!

I don't recall the name of the player, so if this was you last night on Xbox NA, seems legit if you have a high frag & apologies for the discredit if applicable.

Cellular Armor is 6% not 9%.

Is this with the newest patch? ._. Because I always remember it being 9% for me. I wouldn't have chosen it if it was just 6%, because that's too close to 5%, which would give 1/20, while 9% is closer to 10%, which is 1/10. The difference there is just too big for me to bother wasting the perk slot if it was only 6%. But if it's a new patch thing, I can't complain.. Just glad there's no more super big DRs.

    It's always been a 6% damage resistance.

Guys, you do realize OHK's are also largely dependent on the targets ego level. You gain a small amount of HP per ego level I believe... something that can OHK an ego lvl 1000 player, won't hurt an ego 4000 player nearly as much.

It has. IMO, pre-patch, it was worth the perk slot. Now, I'm not wasting a slot on a perk that's gonna "turn off".

Regardless of PVP or PVE opinions, this means useless perks, useless builds, and less variety.
Plus, when they do it to DMG, double rolls on weapons will be useless too.

So I throw on a 2000 point shield, just enough so I know when I'm being shot at and can cloak to get away to a new sniping spot. Even before I got the 2000 point shield, when I WAS using my respark regen in PvP, there was only one time I was ever ohk by a grenade. That was by a player that was spamming grenades. And I'm not talking about with a detonator. I'm talking about throwing grenades, one after another. Only ever saw it once, and it irked me, but it was kind of hilarious to witness.. I doubt everyone else in the match thought the same though.
Ooops, just reread the OP's post again, I had the situation reversed, I thought he was the one throwing the nade, not him being blown up by one. Totally my bad.
