If everyone did this....more people could break the 40K threshold....but no, people have to be greedy...and for what....it's not like you get anything additional, at all, for doing 60K opposed to 40K.
I was running around this morning with a Pump Shotgun at a Volge siege (got there with about 8 minutes left).....and it was hard just to get to 16K. I wasn't so concerned with the kills as getting the damage in to lvl my skill to 20.

Last time I checked, one of the historical goals in the history of video gaming is to see how high you can score in the game. Your statement is also self contradicting. If there is no material gain in seeking to attain a higher score it can't be "greedy". In addition, if a there is deadweight at a Siege, continuing to kill at the same rate can help other players since it keeps the killspeed of the group as a whole up which will allow for more waves, and later waves generate more Volge and thus more scoring opportunities.

to this day, when ever i come across a volge ~ at a roadblock or a wandering Volge i just speed past them :X not going to deal with them crazies :3
Deunan, my point was that the goal for most people at the siege is to score 40K so they can have a top tier reward....anything over 40K is taking points that others could have to score 40K and get that top tier reward....some of those are newer players that are having a harder time hitting that goal.
If I'm not just trying to lvl my skill to 20 (in this case I don't come close to 40K) I just run around shooting things....not trying for the kill points. If I am going for the top tier reward, once I hit 40K, I just run around softening up the Volge so others can get the kill points easier. That is all I was trying to say.....there are plenty of opportunities for people to work together to get others to 40K.

No it's not. You're assuming that those scoring opportunities will materialize if you hold back. I'm telling you as a matter of fact that more often than not it won't.
Holding back will reduce the killspeed of the group and will more often than not lead to failure to make it to a 10th wave, or in some cases, even to an 8th or 9th wave which significantly reduces scoring opportunities. If every player adopted your practice that would happen even more often. This isn't pie in the sky theory. It's fact I've seen played out in Siege after Siege.
I'm an average player who more often than not can get over 40k but not a lot over 40k at Sieges. If I do a Siege in the Bay area I'm sometimes at the top of the scoreboard and no one or almost no one else has over 40k, and it's not for lack of attendance at the Siege. One more wave would have put at least a few and as many as half a dozen of the other players over the 40k mark and it's not as if the measly extra few thousand points I might have scored would have done that.
There's also a direct correlation between when I am able to break 40k at a Siege when I get there late and there being at least one or more players over 60k which is proof that it generates additional scoring opportunities that matter.
If you want to help other players don't hold back. You can let everyone else have the kill shots but cutting down your DPS any further than that will likely have the opposite effect you're trying to achieve for any player that realisticially has a chance of getting over 40k through your efforts.
If you just want to level your lower DPS weapons that's your prerogative of course but it's going to help other players break 40k in most situations, especially if every player that can get 40k starts doing the same thing.

The problem with seiges is their loot tables were double nerfed in DLC 2. First I'm sure their is a coding error giving us pre legendary loot. Second grenades are still a part of the loot table robbing us of our rewards for yet another claims item we can't use.
