Of course they care about it. They may not be doing everything correctly, but to say they don't care about the game is laughable. Look at it this way:
They could just let the game die, screw things up on purpose to push people away, and eventually sully their name with every customer and throw any chance of people trusting titles from them in the future into the toilet.
Too late for the thousands upon thousands who already felt hosed and left the game since the beginning.
This latest wave are 'Mostly' lookey-lou's who are coming in for the free game play on their '5 new games this week, 5 more next week' world tour. Sure, the game is good enough that some will stay, but at this price, most are the type who will breeze through.

They could continue trying to get things right, correct things they've done wrong in the past, and turn the game into something they're truly proud of. This would bring more people into the game, trusting their company, and eventually earn more money on said product.
I understand that there are many people here who just want to be mad and hate the game. That's fine. However, a bit of understanding on how a business truly works and paying attention to actual reality, instead of this one-sided version that far too many here want to beat with a 2x4, would really help the situation.
I was the lead estimator for a company I was invested in that designed/built multi-million dollar horse riding facilities and arenas in remote locations for people with more money than they knew what to do with. Talk is cheap, and so is mine. Doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.
Multiple several others on this forum are retired business types who can speak intelligently to the "understanding on how a business truly works and paying attention to actual reality". Many others here are actively involved in going concerns that they own and/or manage. Look closely and you'll see that there are quite a few here who can color inside the lines and then correctly spell the title of the work.
We don't come here to impress, but bona-fides exist that many of us know how to run a business, and can tell when one 'aint playing by the short list of rules' it takes to keep ahead of the bankruptcy courts.
We're just the vocal minority, not the totality of the smart guys in the game world, who are playing this game at the moment.
I'm a realist. I see this game for the positives and negatives. I see what they've done right and what they've done wrong. This kind of subject isn't realism. It's hellbent, biased hatred. I, and others I correspond with, have bought multiple copies of the game. Many of us did that at full price, some picked up additional copies for friends or ease of play at lower prices. I own a season pass on one account and I'm buying individual DLCs on another account. You might want to factor in that some of the more vocal people who don't have spittle flying when they talk aren't a bunch of whiny rabid rabble with nothing better to do than p!ss and moan.
Be mad at what they've done wrong, but thinking they don't care about the game or the people who spend money on it is outright ridiculous and unrealistic.
