As for why people's damage fluctuates when trying new weapons. The players you are with and the strategy they use as a whole will dramatically change this.

If you are trying to break the armor, and nobody else is, you will have low damage due to shooting at highly reduced effectiveness the entire fight. A player normally doing 2 million+ might only get 500-700k then.

If your team breaks the armor early, but are using explosives, you might get a million damage (which isn't necessarily a problem imo), however players using suggested weapons will likely see 2 or 3 (or in exceptional cases even 4) million damage for the fight. Clearly it was more effective.

I guess it all boils down to the fight requiring some degree of co-ordination. If you aren't playing for the team, you aren't playing for the win.

For people using controllers I would recommend trying to switch your trigger to your bumper for faster shooting. And also I recomendthe FPS freaks having the joystick longer helps to aim.

Thanks for the clarity I will definitely take your word for it.

Pistols were the first thing I maxed in Defiance.
I "grew up" with burst weapons (BF2 G36E) and tap-firing (A. V. A. SA58 PARA), so I'm very used to the fast clicking and managing crosshair spread.
I know it's anything but easy and took me quite a while to master, well let's rather say "get decent" at, it.
The problem I have is there doesn't seem to be an intermediate strategy. I am not so great with burst weapons and I am sure others aren't too and that sometimes physically can't click so fast to use a wolf hound effectively. I am am not trying to score 3 million plus just over 1 to 2 with out a wolf hound and so far not having much luck. The best I got so far seems to be using the VBI assault rifle the whole time.

    @ironclad
You should try a TACC Autopistol.
While I use a Wolfhound I always tend to recommand the TACC as well.
It has a better walking accuracy and lower maximum spread thus giving you more timesframes to fire - while requiring much less clicking.

I'm not sure about this one but it feels like it has a higher range as well. Can't test it at the moment.

you know what no one HAS made an intermediate strategy at all. for most of the people its all about geting the big points and makeing the big damage and trying to do as much as fast as thay can with the weapons that are given to them but more so. NOT all people have the ability or the skill to use some of the weapons that are sajusted in the guide. as for the volge weapons im still strong minded that thay are

    and will always be

a henderince. it was tonight that it was proven when alot of the people in a WM where useing the volge sniper. and where not doing enough damage to even remotly bring him down. coseing the hole team to fail. there where also alot of people useing the volge ARs and BRs agine . the bloom of the exsplosions abscuring 90% of the people that where trying to do as the guides say makeing it harder for us to do the damage needed to kill him.

over all no matter what. the volge weapons are hampering the other people that are not useing them

as for the ground pound stratagy i liked the idea but agine have problums rapid pressing the button to empty my blue ground pounds 14 round clip. so i switched up to useing my purple vot pulser and my surge bolter.

ill be testing another sniper i have that has a 26 round clip in it and see how well it does. seeing as on most hits im pulling 4k crits on chest shots without any ego. i figure if i can pull that on a shileded enamy i can pull that on the war master useing egos after his armor brakes. i will post the resolts after i have fully tested it.

The best strategy is to have the whole group with groundpounders and vbi assault rifles....this way if he glitches in the wall you can still do damage with the GP...once his armour breaks switch loadouts to a surge bolter or splitshot and wolfhound or an amazing crit vbi assault...we have beaten the warmaster down so many times I lost count at 100...set your perks up right and use a bullseye shield and you shall never fail....we have broken his armour with 5min left and just totally destroyed him and we have beaten him without ever breaking his armour...I can take 10 solid heavy hitters into a WM with 12 or 14 randoms and kill him a good 80% of the time....it's really not that hard...everybody just has to know theyre roll!

That's the problem though, it's not us on the forums who don't know what to do, it's the ones in-game who know the difference between a BMG and an LMG....

Dod - I've been thinking about your previous post regarding some of the mouse clicking difficulties you have. Hit me up the next time you are on - I think I may have a build that will work for you.
