When we get the group back together tomorrow, I'm going to try taking those screenshots while windowed. I tried fraps yesterday, and oddly enough while we were using it for 2 games straight, we had not a single problem. No one crashed. No one got booted. Of course this was just 2 times but for the past few days this has been the only times we have ever been plague free by one of the 4 jumping into the coop or some misc bug. The thing about fraps though, the videos it takes are huge. One mission was 6GB and honestly I can't record all of my sessions. I've been thinking about livestreaming and tagging the clips that have these cheats going on.
The sad part is, as low as the population is now, we have lost 2 players because of this. I literally had one player approach me today and said, "when the hacking is sorted out, let me know, until then, I'll be on....". The other was so annoyed she posted here (romper) and said too she wouldn't be back until the hacking is sorted.
I'm not entirely sure how widespread this is. It could be we are being targeted, but I have no clue why because most of our players are average shooters, nothing exceptional about us. This leads me to believe that other players could be plagued with this and may likely be leaving as well.
We already know the damage hacking is still alive and well in PVP. I had a friend that frapsed his last shadow war where he put 3 bolt action rounds in a guys head and never got hit markers. I wrote this off as basically pvp is just a lost cause. But now the hackers are seemingly wreaking havoc in pve which means there is no where in this game to escape to for a fair and level playing field.
If I were a hacker, the benefit would be guaranteeing that you are put in a pre-made instead of a pug which would mean your chances for completing the mission, faster, would be increased exponentially.
The hack is out there. There is an all-in-one hack for Defiance right now that can be googled fairly easily which provides a "go to anyone" ability that they advertise will replace existing group members in instances. Trion should investigate this and stop it. It seems if this simple act of going to whom ever they want is the doorway which means closing it should at least stop it for now -- I just hope the solution isn't taking away the ability to go to your friends.
The first few days, I indeed thought it was a bug. After its happened now counting today and the rest of yesterday, some 14 times, always being patroned by the same (well its now) 4 people has made me reconsider the coincidences.
If this happened 3 times I would be ok that is within the realm of a bug and highly coincidental but still plausible that it is a bug. 14 times by the same 4 people, it is no longer plausible and I highly challenge if it is at all possible without cheats.
Precisely.
