I'd be deeply startled if the game is running cash-flow positive. There's hardly anything in the cash shop. In the last four months, they've added three re-colored outfits (none of which I've seen on a player in the last couple of days I've been back) and the two Volge outfits (neither of which I've seen on a player yet either). Which is consistent with the first months of the game, when the players were all over the forums asking for civilian clothes like they wear on the show; instead we get more and more and more power armor suits like nobody ever wore on the show ever. I've been sitting on 1500 bits since some time around July, haven't seen a single thing to spend them on that I would want even if it was free.

On the Livestreams they've shown us four people: Trick, and three members of the community team. And you can tell every time you see them play that none of the community team know even the first thing about Defiance; they're spending all their time in (and on) Rift, so don't charge their time against the game. Trick spreads his time across all four games that Trion is working on, too, but he at least shows signs of having played Defiance a couple of times. So how much are they spending on the game lately? Figure to charge maybe 2% of the time of three community managers, and maybe 5% of Trick's time, and the hour somebody in Rift's art department or so took to recolor a couple of outfits. Even at Bay Area salaries, that couple of hours a month doesn't total up to thousands, let alone millions.

I said it a couple of days ago, I'll say it again: all it would take to stop me bad-mouthing Trion and this game would be for them to deliver even one bit of proof that I'm wrong when I say that Trion no longer has anybody working on this game.

No, really. Even this game; which is comparatively small, can run in to millions in production costs. Mostly man hours. Figure your average code junky can make 50-100k a year, and this may have had 20 working on it at one time. But once a game is out most of those code junkies will be looking for another gig. Pretty common in the development industry both games and apps.
Code junkies? I thought they got rid of the original dev team for a group of smart rats.

Yes, it is always wise to get rid of the original coders so you can spend money and waste time training a new batch when you need them.

Please don't cloud the issue with logic.

    These are just my opinions.
    I have lots of opinions.
Some of them, on occasion, people have agreed with.
I do not trust those people.

Your numbers are off, the current Defiance team is around 20 based on their Holiday picture, (can't find it now, might have been twitter) when Defiance was under development they had several offices including a EU division, but no idea on actual number of employees.

Wish I could find that holiday photo, hate posting w/o proof.

A developer is only as good as the last thing they released.
-Rift- was why i was willing to spend $160 pre-ordering the ultimate edition of Defiance a couple weeks before launch.
-Defiance- is why i won't buy another Trion title at full price if at all.

I really hope you do find that picture, because I won't believe it until I see it.

I meant 20 coders. That isn't counting marketers, dept heads and secretaries. If it's just 20 now that is 2 coders, 5 marketing execs, 3 dept heads, 1 janitor, 1 receptionist, and the rest are CEOs collecting any profits.

IF they do not create a next gen port to PS4/Xbox1 I don't think the console players will be here come 1/1/15.

Game news spreads very very fast on Xbox live. You see what your friends are playing and if they recommend a game you usually give it a try. If the new game is good, and replaces everything you have in Defiance you won't return.

The PC platform won't be enough to keep the game a float so huge emphasis on the first word in my post.
