Now that you ask, no... I haven't. And I've been playing shooters for enough years to know it when I see it.

Wondering the same thing...I have orange grenades for pyro, frag, bio, and cluster that I paid a lot of scrip for when they were worth something. Now, having them penalizes me because unless I get rid of them from my inventory I cannot break down any of those types for salvage. I can pick up and breakdown hatchlings and flash grenades though, if I want to stop after every battle and go through that. But that doesn't seem to be the way a grenade system should work.

Hey, I know how it should work...have a "refresh" system, where you throw a grenade, and then there is a period of time you have to wait before you use another one. This period of time could be reduced by perks, or maybe even weapon bonuses or synergies...now wouldn't that work perfectly?

    Oh, wait a minute...

Yeah, the new grenade system sucks. Before the changes I used grenades all the time but have now gotten used to not using them at all, it's not worth the hassle.

It took me about 45min to favorite everything I wanted to keep in order to prepare for this. Now I just hit (start/left bumper/X/start) every time I see that stupid red prompt on the screen.

I've basically moved as far from the developers intent as possible. The idea was to promote the use of different kinds of grenades, now I use one. The same goes for all consumables, I use one and break down all others.

How much stuff did they expect me to leave on the ground? My answer is none, I'll even throw a grenade in order to pick up that green frag that's laying on the ground. I'm actually thinking of moving the one orange frag I have to my alt so that I can just break down everything without concern.

(start/left bumper/X/start) = menu, mass salvage, exit it's way easier than all those Mortal Kombat finishing moves I still have junking up areas inside my head.

Gosh, don't give away trade secrets. Surely it will get patched!

I posted a how to when the whole thing went live and it was promptly removed from view. We'll see what happens this time.

Ya not so great way to go (imo), should have just pm'd someone first and if you received no response, then move onto more direct tactics.

I'm on pc so the ui is a bit different but I try to do the same thing.I only use frags anymore.
The thing is I have never seen another game that clutters up the landscape with so many pointless and unusable drops. It's bush league game design IMHO and what about the totally sclerotic claims section? It is an ungainly mess left by lazy and shortsighted game design.
    1.05 shotgun mag boost? REALLY?
PC/NA&EU, too many toons to list.

    I agree,
I really don't see the need to use grenades at this point. I have guns that are far more effective at killing and this new system is just making me rich so I'll just sit here playing with my new toys as everyone complains about too many grenades on the ground. My legendary inventory has increased by 40% since the new grenade system was brought in.

Not a fan of the new grenade system, the mechanics are fine, I just hate all the F'n around with grenade ammo drops, maintaining a supply before any event.
If they wanted grenades to use ammo then they should have refreshed with ammo box and ammo drops.
    Same with time and spikes....

Wonder what the upcoming shield change will have for us...

A developer is only as good as the last thing they released.
-Rift- was why i was willing to spend $160 pre-ordering the ultimate edition of Defiance a couple weeks before launch.
-Defiance- is why i won't buy another Trion title at full price if at all.
