Bushido is alive and well today in Japanese corporate culture as well as the Yakuza (Japanese mafia). Also, the Japanese love America's Wild West as there are many parallels between feudal Japan and the Wild West. Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece "Seven Samurai" was easily adapted in a Hollywood Wild West movie called "The Magnificent Seven." The 7th Legion in the Defiance universe compliments what the culture of Bushido has evolved into. It's less about the weapons and more about the philosophy. If you were expecting a band of samurai riding horses into battle and wielding katanas, your expectations were both illogical and unreasonable. Leave your preconceived notions at the log-in screen and let the game's creators create. The content isn't even out yet and you're already hating it. And you wonder why they ignore you.
*cough* the Yakuza do not follow the principles of bushido(you made my wife laugh though so you get points for that at least); and again as I posted many pages earlier, 15 years here in Japan and I've -yet- to meet -any-, be they companies or individuals, that do such. Its just for the most part romanticized, Japanophile fodder.
Agrees with...Yakuza do not follow codes of Bushido.
Also agrees with... It's less about the weapons and more about the philosophy.
Asahi born and raised also.

You can read what he said with 2 forms of contextual or syntactic ambiguity(like the way you can read green eggs and ham as both being green or eggs only).
You can read what he said to mean that both JP corporate culture and Yakuza were implied to be alive and well in the bushido adherent sense.
OR
You could read only his stating that JP corporate culture was and his implication of Yakuza being as well apart of said corporate culture(which actually would negate the possibility of bushido -also- being apart of said business culture since there are, for the most part, a rather diametrically opposed set of considerations between the two). Yakuza influences withing JP corporate culture certainly are not under contention to be sure(just perhaps any attempted debate of the degree of such in a poliferic sense).
Thus refuting such doesn't change either example's ambiguity, really.
I have been silent for many moons from these "forums" for good reason!
I have sat and watched you nit wits, nit pick and tear asunder every singular conspicuous aspect that there is here from the proliferation of personal freedom of speech/expression of members of this community to arguing ridiculously over trivial aspects of a "FANTASY" mmorpg/television show!
I have seen a great many of you give Trion pure hell for not releasing enough DLC!!!!
Those self same individuals now insufferably tear apart the DLC that Trion does put forth
It honestly is not a stretch of imagination that there may be a paramilitary force which uses the Bushido code !!
You need to realize this is not I repeat not your game/show or vision being put forth it is the producers of this game and television show !!
I urge you instead of wasting your time bickering like children and pontificating on these trivial aspects to go forth and produce your own game/television show with your own vision and market it for world wide distribution its a lot harder than you would think......
as far as what should be cause for true concern here is that which is aptly brushed under the rug ...
being the client side "hacking/exploitation" of the game as it stands and the innumerable bugs and glitches in game its self that I for one personally believe needs to be addressed and taken care of before any more patches, updates or dlc is even thought of !!
examples are not limited to the epic failure of the grouping system and random phasing /breaking up of groups when entering/exiting instances !!
the over all failure of the chat interface and channels within the games existing U.I.
groups not being able to have more than 4 players per group for instances like in p.v.p instances and or the new ark break dlc to be able to play as a clan and prohibit having to drudge through with those undesirables whom wish to exploit /or use pre-made client hacks!
There not being an IN-GAME market place/auction house for item transactions!
There not being any conceivable way to reward members of a clan for outstanding contributions and or accomplishments "ie a clan bank that takes a cut of ark salvage/script to be given out .. just a thought. here possibly even a small non ego lvl required weapons cashe as well that any ego can use !
The implicit fact that the rolls on weapons as well as their mastery's are still severely messed up I'm sorry but an "epic/legendary" weapon's should have much better rolls than those I have seen of both my self and my clan mates as well as others
let us also not forget the current problem with the grenade, stim and spike "issue" cluttering up the item claim's and not being able to have greater than 4 ark battery in reserve particularity from the "daily/weekly" ark hunter rewards that simply get lost /vanished with out any recompense
And last but not least the issue with several pursuits specifically the "Cerberus license" being glitched!( I had to have a "gm" manually up date it after I received level 20 in Cerb's")......
these multiple problems are far more cause for concern than what ever trivial gripes you may personally have against the content Trion wishes to release, and I'm sure it will come with adequate bugs, glitches exploits and errors all of its own when and if they do indeed fallow suit.....
steps off of soap box and places it neatly away and thanks you all for your time safe paths and happy ark hunting!
