Whew, glad I held off, reading these forums...

The amount of issues, not just bugs, but strange gameplay design choices such as always on VOIP, text chat that nearly doesn't work, no rewards from Ark Falls. I've also heard so touted story ends up falling quite short aspects, which most quests being grindy.

To top it off; and the real kicker for me that makes me super glad I didn't pre-order...I've heard it barely feels like a MMO, and it's like a Single-player game...on Launch day. Not paying 60$ for a SP FPS with MAYBE Co-Op ability and a sub-par story. :P

barely feels like an MMORPG you mean? It's certainly an MMO. 50+ people on arkfalls is certainly an MMO feature.
text chat works, but could use improvements
the voip, yeah, annoying, but easily patched up once the launch day issues are resolved.
keep in mind you're only seeing the people who complain, and not the hundreds of players who are currently playing and enjoying the game.

i'm also glad you didnt buy it! the last thing this community needs is another person who is incapable of understanding that MMO's at launch are hardly polished games.

i should have just stopped reading after the title included "reading these forums"

I personally hoped that less ppl are playing, queues too long.

Mkilbride: 41 posts and you haven't played the game? Is this an issue of getting so excited about a new movie that you have to constantly talk about it but not seeing it because others say it wasn't any good? Or are you just a troll working for Blizzard?

The bad reviews are here from people who like to whine. Those who enjoy the game are either playing it or at work. And a few of us who are at work are using the forums. Don't buy it, don't play it, you won't be happy with it. I'm sure you're not happy with most things.

Nothing better than people complaining about complainers thinking it's a solution.

You can tell people this happens with every MMO till your fingers are numb, they don't care, it's not going to make them any less pissed about their issues or complain any less. You might as well just ignore it if you don't have some info to help them or you're in for a lot of unproductive wasted time.

I only spent $45 thanks to some shopping around but i would have gladly spent $60. This game is quite fun and in no way does it feel like a solo endeavor especially not with the arkfalls. Even on missions where i think i've been solo there's usually a good couple of people around and they've saved me from having to extract many times. This game is an MMO that's the truth.

Voip is broken needs to be fixed, and text chat could use some improvement (lots of people don't read it) but it works. The phasing isn't perfect either and i hope is a priority and i had some complaints about draw distance but it seems its working much better since the servers were taken down for a few minutes.

Overall the game is enjoyable and this is an "OKAY" launch i'm happy with my purchase & know that the few complaints i have will eventually be solved. Also the gun variety is insane i gotta check each weapon just to see how awesome it is in comparison to what i've got already.
Don't be insulted because i don't wanna explain myself, i was probably joking anyway.

Sounds like you've "heard" a lot... and know very little.
