Make sure you submit this feedback. You do not seem alone in this feeling and I am sure the developers would like to know.
Yea I would have to agree that we should be able to pick these said items up and salvage or sell them for scrip. That or at least bring back the old grenades and toss this new way out the window like most of us would like.

Agreed here too, such a waste of stuff all over the ground more grenades and stims than anything else..
Rumor has it a "mass salvage" button for the claims window is coming soonish.
That doesn't solve the issue of leaving tons of loot on the ground because we're not able to pick it up any longer.

Well, you have to deselect all but the same 'nade in all your loadouts and salvage the rest, all as a complete 1-each set every time you accumulate enough to tick you off. In some cases thats every 6 feet. Annoying when there are 12 of exactly the same kind on the ground and not much else.
I managed to deselect all grenades from all loadouts on one 'toon but I can't remember how I did it. On top of that I seem to have re-selected grenades in 2 of those loadouts, prolly by holding the 'pick-up' button for a moment too long, and now I can't remember how to deselect them again.
These are just my opinions.

I find that if you have PURPLE or an ORANGE grenade equipped on your toon, you won't be able to replace a top-tier grenade if you sell it to a vendor without a back-up grenade in claims. If you own an ORANGE grenade, and it is free to sell at a vendor, you will only be able to be replace it by the best grenade in your claims list. If you have a PURPLE, and sell it to a vendor, you need a PURPLE in claims to replace it. Same for ORANGES, of course.
When your count is down for an equipped grenade, the grenades you pick up or claim get thrown as ORANGES or PURPLES if that is your currently equipped level.
I sold a bunch of grenades to a vendor today to thin out my claims list. However, I was able to replace my active grenades with equal-level grenades because I had a same-level grenade in claims as well. -GadeJ
