Fun to watch but not something that will keep me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode.

Loved the 1st half of the pilot.

2nd half?
meh.

Why did our hero blow the operation, start shooting at the wrong time, and get ppl killed if all he had to do was wait another minute and jumpstart the multi-bajillion scip secret weapon?

How did the dirtbike riding "Hell's Aliens Motorcycle Club" manage to get away without glowing in the dark for the next 12 years?

The reason I stopped watching is because they walked everywhere.
Nobody was in a hurry, nothing was important.

The episode where they went under StLo to the reactor to hunt down the badguy who sabotaged the gate?

You're chasing a badguy TO a nuke power plant, and you're sitting talking about the old family dogfood business while sipping water like it was vintage merlot?

The pilot episode, the original sheriff gets killed?
Nobody was in a hurry to do much but sit at the table and walk around.
It's not like there was much to do but wait for morning to see whether the body was still there or not...

Too casual for me. No sense of hanging on by fingernails trying to survive. No feeling of any need to do anything but just hang out and chill wit da posse....

We as viewers aren't supposed to be intelligent enough to see that or ask those sorts of questions.

No I don't watch a lot of TV, and yes sometimes it is just because of the lead actress; Lousy liu.
I don't rate most shows on TV very well. I mean Defiance is in my top ten new shows to me, I'm sort of watching lol

And yes, I've seen a lot of new movies where the money could have been better spent.

I believe the lore is that they're sensitive to 'vibration'. Thats why they can pop up under your feet no matter how much you zig/zag-run. (Totally p!sses me off that they know where I'm going to randomly run while I'm running, and get there at the same time I do.)

So they can 'feel' a yell, while not actually 'hearing' it. I was always under the impression that your ears felt the vibration and turned it into hearing, but what do I know.

The prob with that though is that in the ep the characters came down right next to the hell bug nest on a big industrial cargo/miner elevator. The nest was 10 feet away with nothing obstructing the bugs.

You're right, yeah, I remember that.

But the upside is we got to see them schmear bugshtako on themselves, if I remember correctly, so it evens out.

They make us play bugshtako, we watch them wear it.
Once you see that, you're supposed to suspend disbelief and let them slide on details, I guess.

I like the idea of a weekly rematch discussion thread series. The episode discussions here and over on the Defiance sub-Reddit during the original airing were some of my favorite threads. It's a shame that up until 2 days ago all of Season 1 was up on SyFy's website. IDK about any other cable providers but here TimeWarner has the whole season OnDemand if that helps anyone who's having trouble finding the episodes online.

That couldnt have been so bad it looked like caviar =] The other bright side is that they didnt run into Xenomorphs. I can just Imiagine the scene with Tar trying to swing his sword at two face huggers. They see he didnt come out of the house and they find the Hugger on his face. His son is like well it obvisously doesnt want to kill my Dad so lets put them in the bath for ritual cleansing.

Hey I don't have TV, just my computer and I sometimes watch DVDs on it, I was wondering if the season 1 DVD box we can buy does contain the pilot.

I only know of the game so far, been playing since about less than a couple weeks, i'm interrested in watching the show as well, but as my previous question : would like to know if pilot is in the DVD box as well or if I have to get it elsewhere.

If you have netflix they have the discs. Disc one has the pilot.
