Tyrannos, the fail with this one is strong indeed.
Tyrannos, the fail with this one is strong indeed.
Speaking as an Alpha tester, I can safely say that this is not a universal truth.
* Clunky UI.
* Broken chat system.
* Ammogate. (The grenade balance debacle almost pales in comparison)
* Broken boosts (The loot boost actually broke the loot table when engaged. All you got was white grenades and shields while it was active. Other boosts would fail to give their bonuses at all.)
* DLC Season 1.
* The Great Keycode Nerf. (There were several iterations of this one... In fact, one of the loading screens still references Key Fragments, which no longer exist.)
* T4 lockboxes that gave only greens.
* Being able to use vehicles to grief arkfalls. (Anyone remember the GTA noobs killing skitterlings?)
* Sniper scopes that made accuracy worse instead of better.
* Emergencies that spawned in the path of the racing time trials and caused them to fail.
* Synergies that were missing mods or weapons to complete them.
* Increased the cost of vehicle specials by 3,000%. (They used to be 500 Scrip. Someone clearly didn't think about proper pricing before launch, so the fix ended up being an extreme increase.)
* Equipping cluster grenades would nerf your DPS to zero with any weapon.
I could probably double that list fairly easily. As you can see, they had their share of faceplants, screwups, and generally clueless ideas.

Yes. That is what I said. The last word *is* with SyFy. If SyFy says it is lore, it is lore. If SyFy says, "No...you got it wrong, it isn't lore and it won't be in the game," then it isn't and it will not be. If you somehow believe otherwise, you are definitely confused on how things work.
So SyFy gave their blessing on alien Canadian samurai? I think the game has some autonomy based on how clumsy the series tie in episodes were. That is just a guess as I, in all honesty, do not know how it works.
I do see many differences between the show and game though.
1.05 shotgun mag boost? REALLY?
PC/NA&EU, too many toons to list.

"Daredevil"
Yes, that is correct. They did give their blessing or the 7th Legion wouldn't be coming into existence. Differences between the show and the game do exist, but not in the lore and what is canon. And the differences that exist have not been excluded or contradicted in any way. But ultimately, SyFy would have the final say on anything that is created for overall lore. I doubt they care much about minor stories that would have zero impact to the overall continuity of the show, but at the end of the day they still have the absolute final word on whether something is or not in the game.
No, that is just wrong. Both sides come up with ideas and stories and they work together to find solutions to problems that arise. That is why they have this guy called Brian Alexander working for them, he is a mythology coordinator and works to make sure things run smoothly back and forth. Saying that Syfy comes up with everything or they decide what is canon and what is not is so very false.
Hey.. How did this friendly thread about the devs gross incompetence and continuing failures turn into a debate over DLC3...
I mean 1.206 was a perfect example of the quality of workmanship going into the game.
Surprised this hasn't been locked yet...

A developer is only as good as the last thing they released.
-Rift- was why i was willing to spend $160 pre-ordering the ultimate edition of Defiance a couple weeks before launch.
-Defiance- is why i won't buy another Trion title at full price if at all.
