game launcher is slow and laggy

I have had this issue since installing the game. I am on Windows 8.1 now and the problem still exists. I can't seem to find anything even remotely referencing the issue anywhere on the internet or the forums.

The game launcher seems to be EXTREMELY slow and laggy. It patches and logs into the game just fine, it just takes like 2 minutes to load the launcher initially then another few minutes passes while it loads itself and is ready for login information. Then after logging in It takes just as long to load the patch screen, and then takes another few minutes to register either the Patch button click or the Play button click. After about 5-10 minutes of waiting for the launcher to load and be ready it finally launches the games and everything runs fine after that. The problem seems to be the just with the launcher application. If someone knows what I am talking about, please help!?
