Do people still play this game?

I haven't played this game since it was first released and was wondering if people still play it and if its worth finishing and continuing or is the dlc's are worth getting? Just general stuff like that.

I just logged on to answer the same question... I haven't played since the month of release and it still doesn't look like much has been fixed or improved. What a joke.

We try to play it, but it doesn't cooperate.
I totally wrote the first Defiance filk:

Also, I used to recruit for the Anarcho-Syndicalist Revolutionary Union <ASRU Ark Hunters> (on 360 NA), but no one was interested, and I don't know if I'll ever bother playing again.

    Agreed.

The arkfalls today were rediculous in terms of number of peeps. Almost felt like 2nd week of release again... almost

If you liked the general idea of the game when you first bought the game then you may well want to return to the fold. There have been several changes since you left, and I recommend you read the patch notes. There are still things broken with the game, BUT things are getting better (hell I can play with my clan mates now, thats amazing compared to the first couple of weeks).

The DLCs are again kinda up to you. Play the game as is, see the changes, try out the different elements, and if you enjoy the idea of Arenas (single player) or fighting a big mean gorrilla (co-op... or rather supposed to be as some people dont co-opperate), and you like the idea of Samari Alien (and non alien) canadians... (which I do) then you may well enjoy the game.

Plus on a Big note, you can play ALL of the main missions in co-op now Nim dont know what hit him

    so, seriously?
I just joined last week, bf got me the game cuz ive been wanting it since the show started but when I got in I have so far only seen about 7 people running around and im pretty sure 1 or 2 are people ive ran into before...it just seems dead on the main map, not like some of the other MMO's ive played...well cept WoW but then those players are usally in the citys Roleplaying, yich.

so is it really still active, or am I missing something/in the wrong place?
Im in the north American one, dono if the game uses servers.

I am on the EU servers (you can switch if you want). However I believe the NA servers have more people (apparently). Also, if you have a game like halo reach, call of duty black ops 2, or any other game that tells you your NAT type. If you have restricted Nat or moderate nat, it seems that (Im not sure on this I would love dahanese to clarify) you end up on dead phases with few people.

Apparently there is ways of switching phase till you get to a populated one involving logging out and back in, or dashboarding (if on xbox) and re-loading. Or by doing co-op maps (this sometimes switches phases). Also PVP, and shadow war sometimes switches phases. If you have anyone on the game in a different phase you can force your way onto that phase by teleporting to those peeps. I recommend getting some buddies on defiance, even if its just to run with your friends... if worst comes to worst and your on Xbox, join the EU servers and run with us at Midgard, we are usually on at US times as well as during the day for EU (we have no life). Also try joining one of the bigger clans, that way you can try and get in with them... although I dont know if you can teleport to non friends.

I last played for a few days after the Castithan Charge Pack came out and left again with a blah feeling again not even knowing if the download even fully installed. I just recently started playing again a few weeks ago with a fairly new character and havent really stopped. Maybe a long break helped, maybe not. Maybe because I’m just taking a break for other games.

As for the number of players, that depends when you play. I’ve seen as many people in one location as I had last April/March and other times you fell like you’re the only person in the game. Some of the ark falls are as populated as they were from launch time which kind of says a lot. I don’t know how many of them are new payers though. Considering the game costs about $15 new, it wouldn’t wouldn’t surprise me they buy it to try it out.

As for the downloadable content, if you have the season pass you might as well use it but if you have to pay for them then I cant really say they are worth them. For $10 and what you actually get compared to other games and what they offer for that price they certainly are not worth the cost.

We wont mention the Volge and how they are being used in the game compared to what we saw of them in the show.

You shouldn't have to do anything to find players in this game, but the developers like it when you feel alone in an MMO I guess.
