I don't know if I'm buying that Crasher. They knew they had no content to release, but pumped it anyway.

They knew that we were waiting for a sizeable amount of content for DLC3, but copped out with a "DLC4" excuse instead. And only, after we noticed there was no damn content in it.

Reminds me of a distasteful car salesman at a used car lot that hasn't made any sales this month...and it's the 29th. This entire DLC took how much effort?

I'm thinking 2-3 days, for one dev. Tops, 25 hours total. Absolutely unbelievable, even keeping in mind what we've seen as "content" previously.

Honestly, I can't believe I see anyone defending this attempt at a "DLC".

No,no, like DLC1 the folks that pay get some cash shop crap, they would never have bought and is basically a joke to sell, instead of the actual story content they thought they were funding.

This game takes up a huge amount of my computer's day. It's Alt+Tab'bed most of the time, but Defiance is there as a place to burn a half hour while I'm waiting for a customer response....or word from a supplier.

I'm playing DayZ now. The standalone one. My clan has an ARMA server set up, but I've already bought the standalone.

Wouldn't have an issue playing with you there. I've gotten my pants stolen so many times, it's really starting to piss me off. Could use someone in the treeline to help me take care of these pants stealing gangbangers. There's like 5 of them. :P

Back in September, when this was posted, we were in production on Arkbreaker and in pre-production for 3 more DLCs. At the time, DLC 3 was going to be our first story update, DLC 4 was going to be more mechanically driven, and (no spoilers on DLC 5… yet!) Many of the features of Arkbreaker took longer than expected and required the same resources as our story update. As such, DLC 4, which soon became “7th Legion” moved ahead of DLC 3.

Strangely, this numbering will still be apparent in the audio files for the story update, as all of them will still be tagged for DLC 3. Welcome to game development.

So how do we get reimbursed for our $10 we paid on this part of the Season passes, not trying to be outright rude here but Game development issues are not the customers fault. If the DLC holds very little Downloaded content what exactly does our money get us?

I defend Trion as much as i can, but this is pretty disgusting to say thats how game development works after we've paid for very little content, and from using other companies i'm sorry to say it's not how game development works, this is just pretty poor.

There are neither missions nor side missions in the 7th Legion DLC. Incursions occur more frequently with higher populations as high populations complete dynamic events more rapidly. That said, we're looking into increasing their frequency so that more players are certain to encounter them.

So you are saying you increased content we have already played a bit so we can play it all until DLC3 (DLC4) drops, you do understand its all been played to death over the past year, there is only so much repetitive content a person can deal with.. and again what exactly are we as customers paying for in this Downloadable content addition?

So this being a DLC, what exactly is the PAID portion of this (barely)DLC and what is the FREE portion?

I mean, a chat system, a storyless faction, 4 reskinned weapons, some new virtual clothing, and incursions; all this seems to be more in the Free column. So what exactly is the paid for content or How do you sell a minor patch...sorry, a DLC with no content?

Pointless cash shop crap none with an ounce (sorry EU folk just read dram) of sense would buy. Just like DLC1.
Do I feel cheated? Not in the slightest. Bought season on faith just like game. Game was worth every penny of the presale I paid. Management, not so much.
DLC, foreknown would have bought 2, not 1 and strongly looking like not 3.

I did learn a valuable lesson from all this though. I will never again invest in season pass unless I'm absolutely sure that I'm going to get content worth the price I pay. Also, Defiance is my first and last Trion game.

As have i, i'll be much more careful when i buy season passes from now on..

I am more worried about baby steps at this point.

I'd be more worried about the mass exodus of populations when players realize they are getting nothing new in the DLC. Why stay for yet more recycled content we've done over and over and paying $10 for it...

With over 5,600 views and over 200 replies at the time of me writing this, I am more and more sure that I and others have made the right decision by posting posts such as the following and meaning them:

I stopped playing Defiance a while back due to boredom, and a growing lack of faith in Trion. I figured I wouldn't use the word quit until I had seen what they were offering for DLC 3. Well, my faith meter for Trion is below zero now. I am done. I quit. I Hope to see all the people that I enjoyed playing with in much better games in the near future

Once more and more people come to the same conclusion that myself and others already have, maybe Trion will finally better their game. I doubt it, but even if they do I will never know since it is too late for me. In our future gaming experiences hopefully we all learn from our Defiance experience and do not allow other gaming companies to treat us the way Trion has. Happy future gaming to all
