Pushing aside the fact that they did string us along with a non-verbal promise of story heavy DLC but then didn't tell us this wasn't it until after questions were raised because of the test servers, what on Earth makes you think that Trion could make DLC 4 anything better than anything we have previously seen?
All we have gotten from this company is crap, crap, and more crap piled high with bugs, crashes, broken chat, empty promises, "soon"s, "we never said that"s, and more absolute crap (hyperbole). That being stated, why do people keep giving Trion the benefit of the doubt?
After DLC 2, people said, "well, DLC 3 better be amazing..." Now it's, "DLC 4 better be amazing..." Seems like a bunch of the members are set on repeat (not calling anyone out, just a general observation). Trion has done nothing for the community as a whole, either by implementing bug fixes quickly AND efficiently, nor being transparent about their dirty deeds (sarcasm), or even taking community member's information about currently jacked up things in game, ie drop rates.
Grenade gate, which we all loved, is just one HUGE example of the crap that Trion does. How many, "...better be amazing..." chances are we going to give them? I understand that a lot of you absolutely love the game. Great. I did at one point too. Now I'm at the point where I feel as though if Trion doesn't fail and take a hit to this game, then they will do the bare minimum to get by, as they have been.
I'm not calling for the game to die, not at all, but you have to get your *** beat by your parents after stealing cookies from the cookie jar before you realize you might not want to do that anymore.
Can we PLEASE have unique icons for Spikes and Stims??? Every other item has them and my memory isn't good enough without them...
I've posted this before and I'll probably post this again... DLC doesn't quite much matter on games like Battlefield, CoD, Skyrim, etc. because the stand alone games are great out of the box. The DLC for those games just enhances their life span.
Games like Defiance, an MMO where content and level building amongst other players, is incredibly in need of phenomenal content and DLC. Defiance was unbelievably underwhelmed for an MMO TPS/RPG (which ever you want) in terms of content. A 'B' grade game. This game lives on fresh content and patches and such.
If content for a game like this is lacking, there is no reason to play. The base game offered VERY little in terms of content. Just because you can do the same 6 things over and over does not a heavy-content game make.

on a positive note, perhaps we should be thankful that when they threw the darts at the board for DLC 4 (now released as 3), it didn't land on Sharks, Tornado, and Manhattan like some SyFy intellectual property.
No it just landed on Samurai, Alien, and Canadian... the other would have made too much sense.

That's the thing-- they have the right philosophy, but they implemented it so poorly players can't see it. So they ask for other genres to get copy/pasted over.
