    Customization options:
Gender, race, eyes, bone structure, tattoos, hair. I can see what your saying (there should be a height and weight options as well) but its far from the worst I've seen

Changing height and weight would mess the hit boxes up

Wanting more is always a "thing" (tm). It's 8 options per thing they let you customize, the basics are there such as hair, facial hair, eye shape, head shape, eyebrows, hair color, some tatoos and facial scars. I'd say it's generic, certainly not the worst there's been for some import titles (4 different looks tops) and nowhere near as diverse as games that use sliders for everything. But it's about on par with what Rift did so what I'd say is "within expectations". Me personally I think for heads they do fine, I want to see far more outfits, styles and colors to make yourself look a bit unique on the battlefield. Granted, the fact that this title has to support consoles means they have a limited amount of memory to play with for this stuff. Crossplatform engine MMO's will often have that problem

Yeah, I agree with you OP. Practically everyone looks the same, they were pretty lazy in that department. I just hope they have a lot of outfits to make up for it, and not just the ones you have to purchase -_-..

Having played APB and Skyrim, the character customization is somewhat disappointing. Having said that, I do realize that having greater customization would increase the processing power needed, something which is not exactly in great abundance in consoles.

You have to realize Skyrim is an ACTUAL RPG focused on creating your character and forming him/her into what you want. Of course there's a lot of focus on customization. Funny though, Skyrim has far less options than Oblivion.
