There is no subscription. They got all the bucks from the DLC passes already. The game is already paid for... and abandoned. Unless they want to try to milk the cow a second time with season 2 and expected newcomers, we won't get much more.![]()

First off I have to point out the sad fact that almost 90% of the sci-fi genre that we know today is rehash of plotlines that have existed since the heyday of Analog, and Galaxy magazines. It's only with the advent of new discoveries that anything new gets pumped into the genre, and even then most of it come down to old plot lines and formula writing, it's only how it's presented and whatever little twist or gimic the authors can inject does it stay exciting. If you look at Star Wars it was pretty much a mash up of a western with a bit of sanurai movie thrown in with a whole lot of Flash Gordon for the premise. I personally like Defiance, both the series and the game, though there are a few NPC characters that I'm beginning to dislike almost as much as Jar Jar Binks. Let the show and game slide for a bit and see where it goes before we start throwing rotten tomatoes at the screen. (I'm personally curious to see what they do in the second season of both.)
Secondly I read somewhere that Sy-Fy and Trion have some 4 or five year contract linking the two, if that's truly the case we'll see both around for a little while more. (With hopes that it might bring much needed new content and hopefully new maps to the game.)
"You think you're tough? Well Death rides with me... And I charge him gas money."
"The universe never did make sense, I suspect it was built on government contract."
"I beginning to suspect that Defiance was programmed by the above mentioned government contractors."
And a wise man once told me: "Never argue with an idiot. They'll only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience."
