About a game when the posts, even the flaming troll hateposts, can't push posts last updated yesterday off the front page.

User input has dropped to a low that is untenable... but not crippling. Perpetuum has limped along for two years with only like... 50 active players.

Everyone (except for he frothing-at-the-mouth fanbois) seems to be of the opinion that Trion has both betrayed them and shown a complete lack of concern for the game - or an active desire to anger so many people that everyone - even the fanbois - leave with these latest crippling bugs (totally screwed drop table they have chosen not to hotpatch ASAP = people get frustrated and leave, even the nuubs), WM loot table effectively nonexistent, zero.zero chance of getting an 'epic' weapon from any source other than gambling boxes or the 0.0000001% chance from the monkey.
And next up a DLC that's little more than a patch - that will introduce more bugs and fix not much at all.

Wrong. Defiance must *have done* something right... marketing. They got a player base so invested in their game before it even came out that they would have played a reskin of pong so long as the Defiance logo was on the packaging. I really hope they fix the problems with this game. I mean they could at least fix the obvious/easy bugs like the stupid floor-level view that you load in to and the pressence of things like arenas always saying "gold" next to your silver or bronze trophy. You know, if you can't fix the substantive problems in a game, you could at least fix the obvious superficial ones. I'm not saying the game is unplayable (I still enjoy it in small doses), just that it is broken thoroughly enough that it is unmarketable and unprofessional. I can only imagine that both SyFy and Trion are thoroughly embarrassed by the state of this game. I can only imagine how badly they want it to at least appear presentable and what kind of coding nightmare must have been involved in causing that goal to become so clearly untenable. My best guess is that the multi-platform code problem was bigger than they imagined.

Damn straight. My favorite scifi, the top show on Syfy at the time, the top rated scifi on TV at the time, got canceled so they could use the budget from it to make 3 mediocre, ended up getting canceled, shows.
