    he is correct.. they are, in a traditional sense, modeled after the mmorpg standard.
    White/grey=normal/trash
    Green=higher quality
    blue=rare
    purple=epic
    orange=legendary

    of note.. while several weapons may have the same nomenclature but vary in "color" their base stats are the same, what changes are improvements to additional effects, such as 2% chance to do something when something else happens, or they can also be part of a "set"

    the set pieces have bonus abilities in them, depending how many of the sets you have equipped.. how do you make this work? well. the Set bonuses are also found on mods.. so, when you have a weapon that is of the "outlaw" you want to apply mods that are also "outlaw" to that weapon. the higher the grade of the weapon the m ore bonuses it may convey, and may already have mod slots opened.

    this color coded scheme goes for weapons, mods, shields, and grenades. sell any white mods, and don.t waste too much money on the white vendor mods.. and only slot your best weapons with high quality mods.. as it gets expensive to remove and reapply mods constantly. This is why I would prefer some sort of banking system.. I like to keep my high quality mods until the right weapon is found. If you find a mod that is part of a weapon set.. try not to use it untill you get that type of weapon that matches, or be rich enough to afford adding and removing at will.

    trick? take everything that drops... and then salvage it.. EVERYTHING.. (unless it's a gear upgrade). few things honestly sell well back to the vendor.. and getting credit is soo easy. as is getting lockbox tokens.. save up for the tier 4 stuff, once you have the weapons you want, spend it on the mods.
