Disappearing vehicle discussion

The only thing I'm aware of that despawns vehicles is a timer when no one is on the vehicle.
I don't know how long it is. 10-15s or so.

My guess is that somehow the timer either doesn't stop when someone goes on said vehicle, or somehow it's activated while driving, either by the program thinking no one is on the vehicle or something similar. Lag maybe?

That's my guess anyways.

The first few times that it happened to me I thought the same thing but then it happened after a longer/shorter period of time. and it happened to everyone at the same place, unlikely that everyone spawned their vehicles at the same time. Plus there was once when I was playing with my brother-in-law and we were driving past KTAM. I was following him (helping him do side missions I had already completed), and saw him disappear; just as I got to the same point my quad disappeared too. This gives me the feeling that there are random barriers around that cause the vehicles to despawn.

Heh, it's kind of funny to think about the possibilities. Is it server overload? Is there a network hiccup where there's large packet loss? Does the client despawn your vehicle when there's too many objects around in a similar way that it doesn't show enemies and other players? Maybe there's something trying to spawn your vehicle again and failing (but the attempt removes your old one just as if you try to spawn a vehicle over again). Maybe some combination of all of these? None of these?

This time I was on my way to a Arkfall just me and nobody is around me or was near me. I was boosting along and half way through the boost it shot me off my ATV. I was right by diablo lighthouse when it happened to me.

So what you're saying is, Trick made a list of players he doesn't like and whenever he's feeling agitated he just starts mashing his "despawn these people's vehicle" button. Clearly I am on his list and he must have been VERY agitated today. >.>

Hey, it could very well be just that... we will never know for sure.

Let me think about this a second now... if it were Trick causing this somehow, that would certainly explain why I keep getting ejected out of my vehicle at completely random times. It does seem to happen to most people though, and I don't think Trick is that vindictive, so I doubt it is him. This does not completely rule out your newest theory though Fuzzle.

I actually saw it happen right in front of me....the driver popped ou of the vehicle, staying in mid-air while his Dodge went on its merry way....quite funny when you see it, less so when it happens to you

I'm telling you, they are POS remade vehicles that leak petrohol. Don't you feel immersed now?
