I was worried about dungeons & grouping, along with a bunch of other stuff. In on live stream the probably answered 92% of my questions about the game. And i still have 2 more episodes to watch!
I used to be an eager Ark Hunter like you, then i took a "soon" to the ear.

Honestly I highly recommend you check out the sticked thread at the top of this forum labeled "One stop shop for Information"; you can check out all sorts of resources to get even more background info about the game and the show in there.

If you want to check out how the game actually plays, your best bet is to get invited into the public beta events. Then you'll be able to actually play the game and decide for yourself if this is something you want. Of course the easiest way to do this is to preorder the game which guarantees you a beta invite.

Since you want to kick the tires of the game before preordering you will need to get an invite elsewhere. Fortunately you can still get a beta invite code fairly easily. Numerous gaming websites having been giving out invite keys all over the place. Also you can watch Trion's live stream on Twitch.tv every Friday where they almost always give out Beta codes.

Also keep in mind that once you're invited to one of the Beta events you will be automatically invited to ALL future beta events until the release of the game. So you'll get plenty more opportunities to check out the game.
I've actually already rummaged through those sources, I'm just looking for some more concrete information that we're probably not going to get until the NDA drops and we're just about up for release. I've definitely looked into it, enough to know that I'm interested, but you would think they would make information about the game not quite as fragmented. The ARG for hunting codes hidden all over the place they just put up is awesome, but I shouldn't have to do that to get basic information to base purchasing decisions on. I hadn't noticed the tumblr before so that did help a bit with the background, but once again, I question why that's not on the site instead of buried in social media. I'm going to go through the livestreams when I can, but time is a bit limited at the moment.

I should be good as far as a beta code goes right now. I managed to grab one from one of the previous beta giveaways but didn't do so in time for the first beta round. Currently waiting it out for the 2nd one to be announced/go up.

That said, I do appreciate people being helpful and not jumping on me for being critical. I just like to have all the information before making a decision, and honestly want the game to turn out well.

But you are right. When I re-looked at that page I found something I missed. That in itself shook my confidence in this game to it's core.

Wait so we are not only asked to pre-order a game at $59-149 with little to no info on the game. But we are asked to do so on a game coming out in 3 months when the game is still an ALPHA? I get the need for the NDA, but how can I possibly in good faith spread the word on a game that is apparently getting not just a rushed release, but SHOT OUT THE DOOR?!
Allow me to explain. The wiki can only contain available information, I am not part of Trion and thus I have no idea how most of the stuff works.

Concerning the Alpha, I believe they test the whole game while beta tests portions. Alpha helps to find the big problems and get them out while beta fine tunes everything as there is more people playing and testing it out.

WoW, you're specific, arent you. I buy the game because I know theres tons of content plus show and I need no second guess it.

Tell your friends this budget is 80mill, this is MMO shooter and tv show. If that aint enough I dont know what is. Hell, why not to throw in that Time Warner is one of the investors.

Last not least, Trion World is MMO/online game focused company, if you have even slightest interest for those, you should buy this game ASAP, people dont probably realize this but this genre is very very empty. Just imagine MMO genre without EA or Trion World. Yeah, the existence of this genre is on the edge.

Even if this game sucks, i still plan to sink a lot of my time into this game.
The reason being is we need to show developers that us console players are very interested in future MMOs coming to consoles.
