I do not understand all these "the server is dead, there is no one playing" posts. I play from Australia on the pc N/A server so when I am on most of the servers population is asleep. but even then there are plenty of people around we do majors, the sieges, and there are still too damn many ppl at incursions. So if the off peak time has plenty , then peak time must have even more .

It happens all the time. I'll be in a world full of people and say go try to enter a WM to get booted to the main menu only to log back in and I'm in a dead world. I roll around solo arkfall and do a major but it is no fun soloing them. As he said they are set up to be played with multiple people.

It would be cool if when I sign in I could pick a world/server to play on with X amount of people in it. This hopping on the game with nobody on and having to log out and back in multiple times is growing old.

Yeah similar experience all weekend had tons of ppl around, the last two days we've just seen maybe a half dozen separate individuals aside from us.

I think the number of concurrent players must be borderline for X number of shards so when your on one side of the line you've got loads about and if your just over the line your in a ghost town.

Would be better if it could dynamically adapt to even the spread but hey just another coin in the fountain.

While there are plenty of legitimate reasons to want to quit the game, not being able to solo major events is hardly one of them.

Agree. The major events are meant to be done in a group.

The point is, I'm on a server alone.
I'm on a quiet server alone much of the time.
I get put on a server alone.
My friends list shows that the people on it aren't logged in, and many of them haven't logged in for a while.
I added 4 friends to my list in the last week alone.
They haven't been back since they accepted the friend requests.
I'm not playing alone on purpose.
I have no active friend to jump to.
I've logged out several times in a row a few nights to see if I'd get put on an active shard.
Great, I may be put on a more active shard or not, I don't know.
My friends list is still grey, and I'm the only one, or one of the two or three, who are AT the 'major events, falls, breaks', whatever.

Been playing heavy since April. I know what a crowd at an event looks like. I used to be in them.
I can't participate as part of a crowd at an event if the other people don't show up to carry their weight.

Which means I solo it, which I stated in the OP as something I wasn't going to do anymore.
Or I just don't even try anymore, which is one of the only two other options.
The third option is that I spend all my play time driving to events that so far aren't being populated by other players, whereby I don't get anything done but driving from event to event without actually getting any gameplay in.

This is a coop/MMO type shooter game, not a 'drive around looking at all the events you wont participate in as a solo player' game.

Ah, the badlands, I love it...but when I get lonely in this deserted wasteland I enter a co-op and when it's done I'm suddenly surrounded by arkhunters everywhere....not lonely anymore ;-)

I can understand if your friends aren't playing anymore. That does suck, and I wish you the best.

For those complaining about being on an empty shard. If you have a friends list, check it. If the majority of them have a red icon, port to one of them. There is no need to dash board out and re-log in. The majority of the time, it's going to log you back into the dead shard, contrary to popular belief.

If you're on PS3, shoot me an invite. I may not tag along with ya, but if you need someone to port to, I'm your guy. However, sometimes I stay on the lonely shard to level up my weapons and what not without the interference of others. If that's the case, shoot me a psn msg, I'll get ya to the busy server.

Binky, it comes down to this simple fact. If you were alone on the servers, the servers would not exist.
