Thread: Is this it?

  1. #31
    I don't like GW2, mainly because it's super easy.

But at least ArenaNet is good developers. They've added an expansion worth of content to the game, since release, for free. Their April fools joke added a Mini-game that can take 3-4 hours to complete and has near infinite replay ability. A April fools game that has more effort put into it than most games today, and they will continue to add content, for free, not asking for a "Season Pass", and oh yeah, no sub fee either.

I'd wish ArenaNet was in charge of a game like this. It'd be alot better off. GW2 is a boring game storywise, as you've all shown, but as far as ArenaNet's support of the game, it's quite awesome.

OoOooooooooo....this guy has 70 posts so that means his opinion is valid and ours is not! The game just released man, are we all supposed to be veteran forum posters right now? I paid $60 for this game, if I have criticisms you're damn well straight I'm going to post them. Fanboy it up though, you paid too.

A crap ton? Seriously, what can you not do in the first 4 hours in Guild Wars 2 besides survive higher level content?

Did you really say that with a straight face? :/ The depth in an MMO like GW2 (or even WoW) compared to the depth in Defiance.. not even remotely on the same level. I'm not trying to bag the game, but let's at least be honest. It is what it is. They sacrificed a lot of MMO elements in an attempt to not trample on the shooter end of the game, but the truth is you can still have a shooter and still make an MMO with a decent amount of content.

How would having crafting or social hubs, for example, make Defiance a worse shooter? This game is very MMO-light.

Agreed in GW2: Fishing, crafting, mining, smithing, weaving, cooking, jeweling, fighting, PVP, boring story, exploring a unique and interesting world, that you genuinely want to explore. Dynamic events that have multiple solutions, endings, and split off into other things..

    In Defiance: Shoot stuff, drive.

    no fishing in gw2

these are all the same thing and unless you were lucky with blue mat drops you don't do much crafting in the first 4 hours, if any

fighting, PVP, boring story, exploring a unique and interesting world, that you genuinely want to explore.
you have that here, and i'm sure there are players out there that want to genuinely explore this world, just not you.

only a couple have multiple endings or chains, and they repeat.

    In Defiance: Shoot stuff, drive.
    and?

Uh Oh..dont say these things, im not sure if you read the board the past few weeks, but apparently there is some skill involved in Defiance.

hell even mmorpg's with crafting won't let you start only 4 hours in.
The thing is what you see after 4 hours in Defiance is what there is to see... There's nothing new at EGO 1000 or EGO 2000 or anything lol

The game isn't bad, but don't try to make it what it's not.

Salvage Matrix, not a real skill like mentioned above.

I agree with the OP. Content seems to be lacking. Hopefully it gets better in a while because right now i am getting a bit bored already.

The battle of defiance seems to have started on the forums
