Thread: Is this it?

A big problem is, that while there is so much space in each mission, the mobs spawn so slowly, and are so near each other, that you run in, and kill them all. Then you wait a bit for them to spawn more mobs. But there isn't enough time for them to spread out, cause you are right there.

If they made mobs a bit harder to kill, it might add something to it.
It would be so much better if there was variety in the side missions, but it is just literally go here press this go there kill that, return to drop box.. repeat.

Occasionally there will be a string of side missions that follow in stages but its all the same.

It is like this through out the entire game. trust me I've done them all.

It's a shame really because the gameplay is great! I'm just disappointed at how little content there is.

To be fair if you didn't play the Alpha and it's all new to you it is worth buying the game as you get about the same amount of time out of it as say a single player game, and there is new content (hopefully on a regular basis)

Another thing to note is that the DLC regions and missions will be available to everyone, but only the people who pay for the DLC will get any kind of rewards from it. My only concern is how long do you have to wait for the content as for 15 hours you can pretty much do most of the game (apart from the grinding ego rating)

Along with the bugs that are yet to be ironed out, the ui optimisation in terms of chat and voip has been going on for months now and no changes have been made, they cant even get ammo drop balanced correctly which has been going on for months now too.

I really wanted this game to be my regular time sink. Oh well back to a real mmo for me.

I'll keep an eye on defiance in the future and see what happens.

This is the wrong kind of thinking you have going on here. The show and game should enhance one another, not be a crutch for each other to lean on. Who wants a mediocre game that only shines a bit when paired with a show (or visa versa)? That's not an achievement. That's not the "next level" of entertainment. I would rather have a great game, one that can stand proudly on its own two feet, that is made that much better when paired with a great show.

Unfortunately, I think the developers decided to just make a shooter and are heavily depending on the show to take care of everything else that normally makes a great MMO feel like that second life. A big mistake, in my opinion.

    Truth.

But like I tell a lot of people, play Fallen Earth and Firefall too. You'll find what you're looking for between the three games.

Maybe in the meantime they'll rerelease the actual Defiance live product.

    @ZeroTech:

I am pushing 1000 played hours in Gw2. 5 level 80 characaters, 3 decked in full exotic, and all 3 have some variation of ascended rings, with one of them having i think 4 or 5 pieces of ascended so far. Ive done all dungeons on normal, hardmode, FoTm up to lvl 25. Crafted several disciplines to 400. Jumping puzzles, hours on end in WvW. You name it. I recently stopped playing in March.

While theres a lot to do when youre leveling, and I think the leveling in that game is bar-none the best in the MMO industry...after that, once you get what you need(exotics/ascended/map completions), its grindy. Ok so lets go for legendaries. Have fun grinding 600 gold for one piece.

As for Defiance, I do not know how this game plays out or how it will play out once youve gotten a few hundred hours under your belt. But I can say, and I think I am privy to say, after all is said and done: GW2 leveling = best. Post leveling...not so much. I logged in for dailys and logged out. Snooze.

I'm afraid I cannot sympathize with you OP. My mind struggles to keep up with the amount of content/stats/upgrades/weapons.

I'm curious, which MMO is that?

Currently playing Fallen Earth (not much though) and that looks a lot better, great gameplay, complex infrastructure. It's a pity it's a bit laggy (even with low latency).

It's a pity you are mostly alone on this.

If you have a couple of friends it is more fun if you join each other in a group and you can complete 90% of the missions together...

I didn't think Korean console co-op games were a particularly large genre by any means.

But in your defense, the weapons look like Canadian Windows 7 phone second person shooter rip-offs.
