At the end of the day I think so, because shooting things in the face is always fun. Two questions to make a decision easier...

Which platform you playing it on?

Do you have friends that play, and/or are you in an active clan?

There isn't any new content with the recent DLC, just reskinned VBI guns, outfits in an RNG grind box.
Emergencies strung together into a siege.
No new map locations or co-ops or pvp matches.

Dlc 2 added a pseudo raid boss with no raid tools to combat said boss, so you're at the mercy of people that either want it to screw up, don't know any better or know better and just don't care. Some new guns that are okay, some that are bad, storyline was short but much more than they've added since the start of the game. It also added spikes and stims, which have made pvp even more unbalanced. Changed the grenade mechanics for the worst.

They brought back the episode missions on a 1 hour respawn, while fun at first, lose it's novelty after doing them again and again and again.

DLC 1 was a disappointment with a short fetch data recorder quest line and buggy arenas that were advertised as co-op but aren't. But don't worry we'll get the co-op as a part of DLC 4.... advertising features from your first DLC into your next up coming DLC is just bad form though. Also added some charge weapons, they're most gimmicks and bad weapons compared to what you can already use.

Instability issues run rampant across all three platforms.
Lots of bugs that were seemingly fixed have reared their head again.

It'd be worth playing to see what you missed but you won't find yourself deeply engaged with what the game currently provides. Make up your own mind. But keep in mind that they haven't really changed much.

Oh and they fixed the chat. Though they got rid of the larger chat window and the emote button and the chat isn't full functional in the warmaster fight (you have to constantly type /team to communicate since the team button is greyed out) still a basic chat system but at least you can communicate somewhat now in game.
Yup. I'm extremely disappointed with the DLC so far. If I knew this would be the DLC, I would have NEVER bought the Season Pass.

It's a shame too because if the DLC was actually slighty above average it would get old players to return and new players to be interested, but all it is is endless grinding solo Arena's, Emergencies, and Sieges to acquire Rep to gain new.. I mean reskinned weapons, outfits, and titles. It's boring as hell.

DLC 4 seems to continue the trend of mediocrity. It's just more Arena's to grind for more weapons and armor. But now we can sludge through them with other people!

Season 2 of the TV show better be amazing or else this IP is toast.

I was checking the forums myself before I downloaded the game again. I left right before DLC 2. Thanks for the write-up, man. I guess I'll pass on it right now.

I'm waiting to see something official this summer if true, but from all rumors in the Hollywood Reporter, Season 2 might already be it for the show.

They never really fixed the lack of communication. Any questions answered on the live stream that were more than a yes or no question were answered with vague responses or completely side stepped. Some answers didn't even reflect the questions they were responding to.

Unless you pestered them via pm, things posted on the forum usually went without any response or notice. Issues that were brought up and somewhat addressed were met with confusion and or claims that what we say isn't what is actually happening.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

I'm not too high a level [2100+], but I couldn't agree more. Once I got to 1500, aside from personal challenges, there really wasn't any reason to push harder to get to higher levels. Got all the profiles unlocked, got all the ego powers unlocked, got the necessary perks unlocked. Every gun I get is no better or worse than ones people 2000 ego points below can get. I get that they don't want to give anyone an unfair advantage but by doing so, they've taken away what incentive experience and hard work (er... hard gaming) should bring.

That said, it's still fun once you make friends. That's it.

I think Defiance is still worth playing if you have friends to play with, or an active clan. I have joined the community in June and still have fun every night. The best way to find out if you come back.

I got bored 2 days ago and decided to look through my gamecollection, see if there was a title 'inviting' me to check back into. I saw my copy of Defiance and remembered the Season Pass i bought and the new DLC that was released last week. Perfect opportunity to check again.

I noticed a couple of good things:
-The game had a facelift, it looks much better then the last time i checked.
-It actually runs quite smooth. I pre-ordered the game last year and played at launch. Man, they came a long way!
-Some features have been put in, like salvaging items from your inventory way easier.

And of course i noticed a couple of bad things as well:
-The latest DLC is as dissapointing as the ones before.
-The PS3/EU-server is practicly dead (why not merge the last 50 of us into the NA-server?).
-When all 50 ppl are at the same excursion the game drops framerate like hell and gets laggy (just not as bad as it used to be tho).
-It still doesnt matter which gun you shoot, they all put enemies down equally quick.
-EGO is still just a number, an EGO 3000 player is equally strong as an EGO 300 player. Strange!

All in all i must admit i had a blast playing these last few days. Could be because i still love the game, could be because of the new things to do which i havent done before (like Sieges and Incursions). I used to play from launch last april till august last year. After that the game got boring and i quit. Not sure how long this 2nd time ill be playing. But i dont regret putting Defiance back into my PS3, for the time being itll give me a 2nd round of enjoyment.
