The Show is NOT live, so wtf?

I just had an amazing thought, yeah it happens sometimes, but if the show is already taped and ready for prime time, how will the game affect it? did they do multiple tapings of certain events for the show and once the "polling" is in from the ps3, xbox, and Pc they will show that?
I think i just blew my own mind, but really, they are not going to spend millions of extra bucks on "pivitol" events that are determined by the game right? that would be insane, and unpredictable.
    Why do i feel lost.....mommy......

the game doesnt really effect the show.. its the show that effects the game... for example in an episode a scientist sends ppl out to go get something (forgot what) for her... once that happens in the show that quest to do that then becomes available in the game (thus we were the ones she sent out to go do it) whereas that quest wouldnt happen before that segment of the show.

and the two cross over.. for example a character in the show leaves for a few episode.. when she leave son the show.. she shows up on the game and her storyline from the show advances in the game.. eventually shes leave again and go back to the show.. when she goes back shes changed... if you just watch the show youll see that she had a "transformation" between the time she left and came back but you wont know how or why/what caused it.. however if you played the game youre there to see it all unfold first hand so win that case you WILL know h ow.why/what caused it (and i dont mean physical transformation btw lol)

I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn that they have most of the story arc for the season already outlined for both media, and it's simply a matter of 'flipping the switch' when a given episode airs in order to trigger the games events.

There's very little chance of being surprised with something happening in the game and having to scramble to get that into the show. The in-game events are likely only going to have a couple of different possible outcomes, which they're going to be prepared for ahead of time with the appropriate scripts. When the game events are held, they'll simply pass out the scripts that reflect the outcome of the event.

It sounds lofty and possibly complicated when they air those commercials, but in reality it's probably very tightly controlled in order to make them fit together with as few seams showing as possible.

The show being the Big Brother over the game does make more sense, thanks guys.

I was just assuming that the "changes" would be made in the next season. But I suppose the show being the larger factor makes sense as well.

yup also the main guy on the show (forgot his name) starts his storyline in the game.. and when hes storyline ends in the game.. that ending leads into the first episode/pilot of the tv show.. which is why the game is coming out a week before the show.. so technically the first episode (or at least the prologue to the first episode) is really the beginning of the game lol

Actually - there will be certain events that take place where things within the game will affect the show.

We live in such a technically advanced world that certain things like having a really good player show up or some in-game event appear on the show is a reality and something we are excited to show off!

They would not film two different episodes for one. Simple as that. It would take up too much time and too much money.

The mechanics of doing that wouldn't work either, what happens if they play the wrong one?

They film one episode and event are correlated beforehand so it appears that what you do affects the show, but in actuality, it does not.

Perhaps one day when CGI becomes so good that they do not need actors then they can have such episodes, but not today.

If they do shoot some alternate scenes in advance as a means of doing this, I hope that A) it doesn't turn out to be like the notorious endings for Mass Effect 3 (so insignificant as to be patronizing) and B) the alternate versions are on the bluray and dvd releases when they become available.

    Looking forward to it.
