Personally I prefer the Fallen Earth system. Vehicles have a "real" place in the world. When you get out of one it stays where it is until you logout. And no "magically" miniaturizing them and putting them away in your inventory. You need to store them in garages.

But I can live with the magical miniturization type and expect that's how it will work.

I tend to agree with you. I loved the Fallen Earth system, even when I’d strayed far from my vehicle while smashing up some bugs, turnaround to jump in it and was like “ah F*$%, I’ve left it again”.

The spawn/despawn system is the most practical, and will get you quickly from A to B without you having to remember where you left it.

The vehicle is mainly just a quick way to get around. Having it materialize in front of you just seems like less of a headache. If the map is really vast losing your rude would be a huge pain

    - How you obtain them is unknown atm, but I expect (guess) you get a basic one when you enter the game and upgrade get better / new ones over time.
    - You can summon them anywhere your allowed to. So they spawn next to you so to say.
    - Paintjob is unknown, I think we can assume they won't all look the same. But mostly like depends on the item / vehicle instead of the dye.

I would net expect a full fledged garage, system.
If I recall I saw game play on youtube from E3. Where the guy jumped out of the starting zone and he got a quad right off the bat. So like you I agree it is unknown. I would assume you get them as rewards or buy them or find them.

I'm sure down the road (as in time, lawls), that we will always have a quad or motorbike, but to use the larger vehicles, they will need a garage and have a real "place" in the world (Think: Eve with Titans and Motherships) that will have to be transported, protected and parked in a (somewhat) safe area. Might be that future patches make it so that we have to craft these vehicles.

Personally I think it would be a tad unfair if you jump into a shadow wars sortie and instantly plop out a big multiperson vehicel an start mowing people down, but if you had to be driving from your last area, fighting hellbugs along the way, that would be fine. The other team(s) would see it to a tactical advantage to blow up your LAV, and would give your team a reason to protect it.

That's a cool concept but if the game catches on might get a little messy.

Considering there might be 100's of people running around an area alot of vehicles lying around does sound... disorganized, also think of the lag that would create.

So far a few vehicles have been shown, of course only a few of them
will probably be driveable. First we have the quads. Everyone gets to
drive them in the beginning. I guess it's your standard mount. Then
we have the Cerberus which I believe is the jeep looking vehicle. It
has the gun on the back and from what I've seen rocket launchers
on the hood. They have also shown what is called the Titian utility
vehicles. Looks like it pops up alot as back dressing for an area basicly
cover for PvP, something to jump on or around, but it also looks like
it will play a role in PvP as a mobile spawn point. Of course it could
    serve other purposes as well.

Just recently on facebook they posted pics of a another vehicle. It
appears to be an old military pickup that has been modified. It wil
most likely be used by raiders. Who knows you might be able to
    use it in game.

I wouldn't be suprised if either the vehicles are unlocked as you play,
meaning in the beginning you can't summon a Cerberus or Titian but
when you've hit a certain level you can or you can buy them.

    I know I shouldn't but I'm laughing a bit at the prospect...

I suppose that depends on how big the world is too.

Whether vehicles are destructible or not (I have to assume they are) could also be an important factor. If they are destructible that would eg. strongly discourage players from parking them too close to mob spawns who might attack and destroy unattended vehicles. And in PvP you probably wouldn't park them at all anywhere near the action.
